History was made..haha. Brasilian papers celebrated the Argentine win against Colombia. With titles like "gracias" in spanish. O Estado from Sao Paolo says.."A generous contribution for the Brasilian hope." Sports paper Lance says "Brasil received a helping hand from it's biggest rival Argentina." Now even though this is a little funny for me..Brasilians celebrating Argentine wins, it seems a little pathetic. Is it possible..than Brasil will miss it's first World Cup? People this is pretty serious, almost unbelievable. Before the quailifying started I thought Argentina and Brasil would be fighting for the first position and everyone else will have their calculators out to see if they can make the top 4. Even if Brasil makes the 5th place and plays against Australia..do you think it will be easy to beat the Aussies? I dont think so they Australians are playing better as can be seen in the Confederates cup. I guess we will all see when will the "sleeping giant" awaken once again, untill then VIVA ARGENTINA!! :D :D

I still think that brazil will make it to the next wc.....they still got a lot of games left....and they're in 4th place...colombia is in 5th...2 points behind us.....but brazil has a game in hand which will be played against Uruguay...which is in 6th place....I think if brazil puts all of its starting players on the field they should have no problems against uruguay....hopefully that's what gonna happen....

We also have to thank Argentina :)
Ecuador now is 6 points away from Colombia, and winning both home games (Argentina and Uruguay), we'll be on our way to Korea/Japan 2002.

The most interesting game will definately be Uruguay-Brasil, which by itself is a classic match. Both teams need the win badly. However, Uruguay will have the home crowd advantage and if Brasil doesnt score within the first 20 minutes they will play very nervously and could lose. Can't wait to see who wins! On paper Brasil should win but as we could see so far in the qualifying matches the logic doesnt seem to function. :D

Ecuador does have a good chance in winning these 2 home matches. They are playing very good, almost the cinderella underdog team everyone wants to win. I predict they will tie with Argentina because of the altitude, same as Bolivia. I also think Ecuador could beat Uruguay, the factor is the morale of the Uruguayan team after the Brasil match. Good luck to everyone! This is getting interesting.
