I just decided to pick up Pro Evo 2009 I took it online and played a few games. and notice tackling some one is crazy in this game. and the players seem to be stupid. and find out I can dribble from my end to the next end and score,why is the defence so hard is there a way to tackle, I played other pes games like pes 05. and it was much more solid game than this, I feel like I wasted my money on a arcade game, I was looking for more sims style game play

Yes, the AI in this game is terrible. Your own defenders, as well as the player you are controlling, will run right up to the opposing player with the ball, then stop about 1 yard away and just stands there and does nothing. This is so frustrating as the opposition simply walks right by you because your player just stops for no reason.

And the tackles and foul calls are ridiculous! Just about EVERY time I try to make a legal tackle on the guy with the ball, I always get called and many yellow cards are handed out. But when the oposition does it to me, NO foul or card 90% of the time.

And don't get me started on how the player with the ball will run right by 3 of my defenders but none of them can catch up to him even though they should be able to run faster without the ball! The opposing player can start from mid-field with the ball and I can never catch up, forcing my keeper to charge out at least to the 18 yard line to try to block the breakaway shot - totally unrealistic!
