View Full Version : NEW HOLLAND WC 2002 SHIRT???
Mishkin 07-06-2001, 12:44:PM I am planning to buy a Holland home shirt but I would prefer to buy the one that they will use in Korea/Japan 2002. I was wondering if the one that they currently use (the one from EURO 2000) is going to be the same one for WC 2002.
Does anyone know?

PhiLLer 07-06-2001, 01:06:PM I don't know
SilverStream 07-06-2001, 02:44:PM Probably they'll get a new one in 2002, maybe sooner...
schmeichel01 07-06-2001, 08:44:PM hehe
IF
Holland get there. . .
by the looks of it they won't.
Gunner 07-06-2001, 08:59:PM F@CKING C'MON REPUBLIC!!!! BEAT THOSE B*STARDS IN LANSDOWNE ROAD!!!!!!!
There's only one Clinton.... Morrison that is :)
PhiLLer 07-06-2001, 09:14:PM Yeah c'mon Ireland, I wanna see Ireland go to the world cup, THere's only one Keano!!! :D
Gunner 07-06-2001, 09:22:PM Uh....Philler? Have you heard of the Boundary Commision? ;)
You have your own (admittedly sh!te!) international team, so go support it, not our REPUBLIC OF IRELAND!!
The main reason why there is no United Ireland Soccer team, like in Rugby, is not because of sectarianism. Its because Northern Ireland would not contribute ANYTHING to the current Irish squad. Only Lennon might get to the subs bench :D
I agree, Keano rox (and that's from an old Gooner!!)
I was actually in Lansdowne Road on Saturday when he made it 1-0 v Portugal. Pity about Figo. :(
Ah well, Roll on Holland!!!
Jambo Den 08-06-2001, 12:39:AM yeah Ireland come on and make it my mum's from co.Sligo therefore i'm eligible to play for you lot and the guys in the Irish pubs all over the world are fantastic for a laugh.

Silencer 08-06-2001, 01:25:AM Sorry to bust your bubble there lads but Ireland will go down in september and Holland goes through, mark my words carefully. We will not get beaten by Ireland believe me. So what if the match is in Dublin, who gives a .....!
About the shirt: The plan is when they go through to WC 2002 that the outfit will be different (if that's possible with Nike outfits that is).
Dhruv 08-06-2001, 06:33:AM Holland????
Great Potential But BAD management
Gunner 08-06-2001, 09:22:PM Um, Silencer? Since ur dutch, I bet the very words "PENALTY SHOOTOUT" Scare the SH!TE out of you!!!!! :D :P
1998: Brazil beat Holland on Penos
2000: Italy beat Holland on Penos
September, 2001: Ireland beat Holland with a last minute Peno from GENIUS ian Harte!!!!!
:) :) :D
P.S. Silencer, if Holland/Ireland get to the playoffs, who would you want to play?
e.g. Belarus/England/Israel/etc...
HOUGHTON!!! YES! 1-0 to IRELAND!!!!
(Republic of Ireland vs Italy, New York, 1994)

C'MON YOU BOYS IN GREEN, C'MON YOU BOYS IN GREEN, C'MON YOU BOYS, C'MON YOU BOYS IN GREEN!!!!!!
seandenny 09-06-2001, 12:40:AM Come on Ireland. I do think though that if there was a united Irish team Lennon would partner Keano in midfield, no other Northern Ireland player would come close to being in the squad. FIFA seem to be anti-Irish. How else can you explain the groups we get and our world ranking. Anyway, we will trash Holland!
seandenny 09-06-2001, 12:44:AM By the way Bex7, I am dissapointed to see you got rid of the cool looking Welsh flag.
The Holland shirt 2002 won't be needed by the way because you aren't going to the world cup.
seandenny 09-06-2001, 12:50:AM Yet another thing,
Ireland are undefeated! Suddenly I remember a certain goal in Dublin? Ah, Tommy Coyne. What a goal.
Ireland very very very rarely get beaten in Dublin.
portugal2004 09-06-2001, 05:26:AM By the looks of things Portugal will qualify in 1st and Irealnd in 2nd :D :D
C'mon U IRISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Silencer 09-06-2001, 03:18:PM Again I don't want to rain on your parade so to speak but Ireland trashing Holland??
You must be well out of your mind!! I remember a certain qualificationmatch Holland-Ireland where we won 2-0, when Holland has to perform they will and I won't say they trash Ireland but we WILL win this crucial match and Ireland will be defeated (it's about time too).
And about the penalty shootouts... who says there will be penalties, we'll finish it off in regular playtime.
Ireland gooooo home, the Dutch team has much more qualityplayers than Ireland has.
Players like: Kluivert, v. Nistelrooy, Hasselbaink (topscorer EPL), v Hooydonk (topscorer Portugal league), Jaap Stam, Cocu, Zenden, Davids (hopefully) F&R de Boer..... do I need to say more?
Ireland only has young players and only one or two topplayers like Keano of course, Harte and a few others but that's it!
They were lucky against Portugal but they won't be against Holland, we will have NO MERCY!
PhiLLer 09-06-2001, 03:46:PM To set the record straight, I am from Northern Ireland and I'm proud of it, I have however nothing against Scotland, England, Wales or the Republic of Ireland. To me all people are the same, whether you are muslim, catholic of prodestant...all this sectarian violance sickens me to death, I don't see why their should be a difference between the rep. of ireland and northern ireland, it works out perfectly in rugby doesn't it...!?
To be honest with ya, I do support Northern Ireland but I also like seeing re. of ireland do well coz they have some excellent players! I also like Scotland, Wales and England coz of the manutd players playing there. At club level there is only one club for me at international level I don't really have 1 favourite...
To say that Northern Ireland wouldn't contribute to the republic of ireland is a load of ****e, Northern Ireland have got one of the best young strikers in David Healy, Neil lennon as you said is good and keith Gillespie isn't a bad player by any means.
I have got some great mates that are from the south and to me Ireland is ireland whether you are from the north or not!
I hold nothing against any of you guys from the republic, if you want to hold anything against me I guess that yer own choice isn't it....

LOL! What about Shay Given? Richard Dunne? Robbie Keane? Gary Kelly? Kevin Kilbane? Damien Duff? We were not lucky against Portugal! We will be top by the way Portugal 2004. Ireland 1-0 Holland.

PhiLLer 09-06-2001, 04:01:PM Ireland drew 1-1 against Portugal
Holland won 4-2 in the last few minutes against Estonia(no disrespect to Estonia but they are not a world class team)
Holland have played like headless chickens lately and they will have to improve fast if they want any hope of reaching the World cup 2002
Gunner 09-06-2001, 07:01:PM Spot on, Philler. I've got nothing against Holland's skill and ability, but I do think that the way they played against Estonia was criminal. They didn't deserve to win the game. Ireland only need a draw to get into the playoffs, and I have faith in Mick McCarthy.
My Prediction?
1. Portugal
2. Ireland
3. Holland
4. Doesn't really matter does it?
5. Who cares? :)
;)
C'MON YOU IRISH!!!!!
v-bomber16 09-06-2001, 07:54:PM I still think Holland will qualify, most likely at the expense of Portugal. Its a pity that all 3 teams are in the same group cos there all good sides that deserve to be in the World cup.
Alenitchev 09-06-2001, 08:12:PM From What I've seen, I see Porugal clinching the first place. Three games remaining against inferior teams (Estonia, Cyprus and Andorra). From these teams only Estonia might give some trouble, so we might start packaging things before the last game this time :)
As for the second place... I don't know.

What the **** do you mean you don't know. Ireland. We might even get top. Just look at my signature.
PhiLLer 10-06-2001, 12:23:AM I reckon that ireland will finish top with portugal in second, holland don't deserve to qualify, ireland have been putting up some very steady performances and portugal are a class team so they deserve to go to the WorldCup and will :)
Alenitchev 10-06-2001, 02:16:AM why I don't know about the second place?
1) Portugal has the same points Ireland has, still one game short, and 3 easy games. I don't see us slipping, so the first place is almost in the bag
2) Ireland will STILL play Netherlands. Regardless of playing home, they will win, no matter what it costs.
3) Both 3 teams are still prone to die at the beach, but Portugal and Ireland are best placed contestants
Silencer 10-06-2001, 03:21:PM Forget about it!
Holland has to play 3 more games, 2 games against Andorra and Cyprus and in September Ireland. We will take the 2nd place and send the Irish home, wait and see
Holland plays like headless chickens huh?
Well I have to admit that they did that against Estonia but what about the match against Portugal? You can blab all you want about Ireland but the fact remains that I support my country and you fellows do the same so let's leave it at that.
Amika 10-06-2001, 03:51:PM ah... holland the great underachiever of soccer even at the 70's 80's and 90's... i sure hope that they can change their fortune...
PhiLLer 10-06-2001, 03:59:PM We'll wait n see :)
