I am planning to buy a Holland home shirt but I would prefer to buy the one that they will use in Korea/Japan 2002. I was wondering if the one that they currently use (the one from EURO 2000) is going to be the same one for WC 2002.

The main reason why there is no United Ireland Soccer team, like in Rugby, is not because of sectarianism. Its because Northern Ireland would not contribute ANYTHING to the current Irish squad. Only Lennon might get to the subs bench :D

Come on Ireland. I do think though that if there was a united Irish team Lennon would partner Keano in midfield, no other Northern Ireland player would come close to being in the squad. FIFA seem to be anti-Irish. How else can you explain the groups we get and our world ranking. Anyway, we will trash Holland!

You must be well out of your mind!! I remember a certain qualificationmatch Holland-Ireland where we won 2-0, when Holland has to perform they will and I won't say they trash Ireland but we WILL win this crucial match and Ireland will be defeated (it's about time too).
And about the penalty shootouts... who says there will be penalties, we'll finish it off in regular playtime.

To set the record straight, I am from Northern Ireland and I'm proud of it, I have however nothing against Scotland, England, Wales or the Republic of Ireland.To me all people are the same, whether you are muslim, catholic of prodestant...all this sectarian violance sickens me to death, I don't see why their should be a difference between the rep. of ireland and northern ireland, it works out perfectly in rugby doesn't it...!?
To be honest with ya, I do support Northern Ireland but I also like seeing re. of ireland do well coz they have some excellent players! I also like Scotland, Wales and England coz of the manutd players playing there.At club level there is only one club for me at international level I don't really have 1 favourite...

To say that Northern Ireland wouldn't contribute to the republic of ireland is a load of ****e, Northern Ireland have got one of the best young strikers in David Healy, Neil lennon as you said is good and keith Gillespie isn't a bad player by any means.

I have got some great mates that are from the south and to me Ireland is ireland whether you are from the north or not!

I hold nothing against any of you guys from the republic, if you want to hold anything against me I guess that yer own choice isn't it....

Holland won 4-2 in the last few minutes against Estonia(no disrespect to Estonia but they are not a world class team)
Holland have played like headless chickens lately and they will have to improve fast if they want any hope of reaching the World cup 2002

Spot on, Philler. I've got nothing against Holland's skill and ability, but I do think that the way they played against Estonia was criminal. They didn't deserve to win the game. Ireland only need a draw to get into the playoffs, and I have faith in Mick McCarthy.

I still think Holland will qualify,most likely at the expense of Portugal.Its a pity that all 3 teams are in the same group cos there all good sides that deserve to be in the World cup.

From What I've seen, I see Porugal clinching the first place. Three games remaining against inferior teams (Estonia, Cyprus and Andorra). From these teams only Estonia might give some trouble, so we might start packaging things before the last game this time :)

As for the second place... I don't know.

I reckon that ireland will finish top with portugal in second, holland don't deserve to qualify, ireland have been putting up some very steady performances and portugal are a class team so they deserve to go to the WorldCup and will :)

why I don't know about the second place?

1) Portugal has the same points Ireland has, still one game short, and 3 easy games. I don't see us slipping, so the first place is almost in the bag
2) Ireland will STILL play Netherlands. Regardless of playing home, they will win, no matter what it costs.
3) Both 3 teams are still prone to die at the beach, but Portugal and Ireland are best placed contestants

Forget about it!
Holland has to play 3 more games, 2 games against Andorra and Cyprus and in September Ireland. We will take the 2nd place and send the Irish home, wait and see :eek:
