Would be a combination of CM 2000/01 with the FIFA 2001 match engine as the game instead of the text based cm 00/01 engine. You could choose to either play (as you normally would in Fifa 2001) or watch the match.

Now wouldn't that be awesome seing that new signing actually step out onto the pitch for your team (of course if would be awesome if we could have player names on the back of jerseys.) Imagine it. Real cup competitions, real leagues with promo / relegation, real squad sizes, real injuries & suspensions...
