Eight years ago today Arsenal legend David 'Rocky' Rocastle died of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. He was only 33.

Though his career was often blighted by injuries, Rocky was a great player, a special player. Furthermore, he was a good man.

May he rest in peace.

8 Years ago? Blimey I thought it was more recent than that. Haven't his family set up a foundation in his name or something?

Sad when it happens, Cancer is outright evil.

Yup he was everything you said he was Bobby. A terribly sad end indeed. They do say the good die young and this was an example of that. It doesn't matter that he was an Arsenal player, because certain people transcend those barriers. He was one of those people to me.

R.I.P Rocky.

He played in a CWC semi for Chelsea too didn't he?

And yea, Mikey, they did.

Also had a stint at Asian football as well, great player, Ashley Cole once mentioned that David was a player he looked up to.
Wore both colours with pride. He will not be forgotten.
