The FAI are looking for a new site to build the new national stadium due to the cost of the land on the first choice. Now Stadium Ireland is to be built near Bayside DART station on the Baldoyle side of the tracks. It will provide easy transport with the 32B bus, 32A, 32 and 102 buses and DART service at Bayside. The news especially pleases me because I live within a quater of a mile from the site.

Landsdowne road was getting a bit small anyway, do you know how many people it would hold?
A stadium like Cardiff would be great :D

It will probably be bigger that The Millenium Stadium. It will also be an athletics stadium, with a 50 metre pool, track and much more, it will be top class, plus I get first choice on tickets as a local resident! Hopefully no rugby matches will be played there.

Oh... lucky you... I only have the newly built Choa Chu Kang Stadium here in the place I live in in Singapore... Much smaller than the stadium used for Sydney 2000 :(

i hate rugby and i hope that you dont have big stuck up toffs on your doorstep like me as i live 40 feet off the Murrayfeild land but i live 10mins from my beloved Tynecastle so thats good
Landsdowne Road was in need of refurbishment especially behind the goals.
i was there when we beat you 2-1 and it was like 3rd divison ground in the Scotland area.
Hearts are getting a new 30000 stadium on the outskirts of Edinburgh and the capacity can then be reduced to 25000 as HMFC want to take part in the Euro2008 bid should it be succesful.

Is it not a joint bid?
