Well um...loopychon, I would like to know what you mean by that kind of supporter????

There is a lot of hostility in this forum anout supporting clubs that have success. In my case my entire family is from Liverpool and my dad and grandfather supported the Reds when they were crap!!!(before they won all of their European trophies and enjoyed much of their domestic success). They saw relegation a time or to...

So why am I not ALLOWED by people such as yourself to support the club??? Here in Canada we DON'T HAVE any professional football league and thus I support the club of my family. I hope you don't still have a PROBLEM with that????

Sorry, but that really pisses me off.

Hehe, Rob you're really wound up about that aren't you? Well, actually that is absolutely NOT what I'm talking about!!
OK, for your information what I'm referring to is the Worthington Cup Stoke vs Liverpool match where Liverpool beat us 8-0!!!!!!!!!
I'm not "that" kind of supporter because I don't hold it against Liverpool. Stoke need to concentrate on promotion not waste energy on cup competitions at the moment. Since my team isn't in the Premiership I hope to see Liverpool do well as I said earlier!! I guess this means they are my second team. So can I justify going for a glamour club myself? Not at all and I don't care either cos my first team is the one from where I was born.
Hope that clears things up even if it does mean I have to mention THAT defeat http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

Yeah sorry about misinterpreting what you were syaing. As I mentioned in the post, I have read a few comments aimed at people who support bigger clubs. Just wanted to clear up the double standard that seems to be applied to people who support such clubs.

By the way, sorry about the 8-0 match. If it is any consolation, we are on a bit of a roll at the moment and I think Stoke just got caught playing against us at the wrong time (not to say we wouldn't have won anyway...) Anyway, how is Stoke doing in the table right now. I kind of follow Oldham at the mo because Canadian international Carlo Corrazin is playing there, and doing well to from what I hear. Any thoughts??? Didn't Pesch used to play for Stoke as well??? I am sure he did a few years back...

Actually Rob, re-reading the posts I see why you reacted like you did and I say I can't blame you either. Still I can't deny the fun in observing the justifications that Man U supporters especially seem compelled to have to make - even when it's unprovoked!

To Rob: How are Stoke doing? Well B4 the Worthington Cup Liverpool game we had beaten Charlatan Athletic in the same competition who are a Premiership side so yeah you're right we ain't that bad we probably did meet Liverpool at the wrong time although as you said that's not to say you wouldn't have won anyway..
We had been playing well especially away games but prior to the LFC game we lost our FA Cup first round tie to Nuneaton Borough! Now that was where the rot really showed itself.. As for Pesch I'm not sure.. don't remember but then I did become very out of touch with the club when I moved down south. Now of course there's the internet plus I'm addicted to BBC Radio 5 Live so I couldn't possibly lose touch again. Also I'm man enough to admit that the early nineties were a miserable time for me and Stoke so I stopped looking for the results. Still, I didn't miss much. We have won some silverware however: the Autowindscreen Trophy.. it has been renamed this year but I don't remember what they're calling it.

To all EPL fans outside the UK: If you want to keep up with the Prem tune in on the net to BBC Radio 5 Live at the usual kick-off times and you'll get commentry, details and results from all the games!
