it consists of

offense
1.more pretty passes
2.better runs (better spacing of players on the pitch)
3.better 3rd man support
4.better curl & spin speed for more realistic free kicks
5.better jostling for more opportunities on corners & indirect free kicks
6.better turn back speed for less delay after trap or skill move
7.better trapping

defense
1.better tackling
2.better marking for tougher defense
3.better closing down of defenders & 2nd defenders near the box

goalkeeping
1.quicker gk reaction & save speed for less goals
2.set keepers to play from db attributes (instead of the gks playing w/ same ability)
(because not all keepers can play like casillas, buffon, cech)

game physics
1.better ball physics | corrected physics for rainy weather
2.more realistic collisions
3.better player to player avoidance
4.more handballs
5.more fouls called against the cpu (i get 4 to 5 fouls called a game)


gameplay is more realistic all around. (in my opinion)

From Reg's AI v.1 Read Me Files
Install Instructions

1. Make a backup of your ini.big & config.dat (ini.big - hdd\Program Files\EA Sports\FIFA 09\data\cmn | config.dat - hdd\Program Files\EA Sports\FIFA 09)

2.use biggui & file master 09 to install

biggui

1. file open (ini.big)
2. import ai.ini
3. rebuild

file master

1. locate & click on config.dat (should be at the bottom of the main tree)
2. import ai.ini
3. file save

I Just Copy ai.ini Into \Program Files\EA Sports\FIFA 09\ and its work fine!:33vff3o:

not bad, ball's a bit too light though in my opinion. feels like i'm passing around a feather... all my FK's are rocketing above the bar... but i love the AI improvements tho. better keeper, better passes, etc. just curious tho, why did you allow backpass GK pickup and no immediate red cards?

ill make the ball a little heavier, because i see them do it often, even though it thought i wasnt legal, & no immediate reds because i tend to get them with my keeper often, but thats my fault, ill adjust it.

notice when you run into a big man at full speed you
get dropped & the big man shrugs it off ?

the jostling is much better, especially w/ my modded
set plays i released.

i need comments so i can make it better.

man i think the shooting needs a big fix.
every one of my shots from within the box sail off above the bar.

i like the passing and curve but a little less curving on SHOTS i guess.
OVERALL, i like it except the near shooting. (Haven't tried a long shot though).

i second the shooting. most of my shots keep rocketing over the bar now... i really like the passing and jostling improvements though, as well as the AI improvements

hasnt been edited, it was used as a base from from default ai.ini

that actual file was never touched.

i also reworked all parameters, maybe 3 are the same in the whole ai.ini.

i installed your patch as i stands in read me but unfortunately fifa breaks down :(

get the files off the disc or from the iso.

download v.2 & copy it into the fifa 09 main directory.

you put it in the worng config.dat

there are 2, one is 28 kbs & the other is 5, it goes in the larger one.

no originally i thought you had to as that was what i was doing, then i learned you do not have to, you can just copy it to the fifa 09 main directory.

3. Shot height is fixed.
4. Good runs by the CPU.
BAD
1. NO FOULS !!! 0 FOULS BY CPU (played only one match though)
2. Shot strength is still weak, some rocket shots if possible should be made available.

OK sweet. So I just paste V2.1 now into the FIFA09 main dir, and leave the ini.ai and fifa.big files as they are - embedded with your V1.

Also, how the hell aren't you working for EA Sports? These AI tweaks are fantastic. But in all reality you shouldn't have to be making them - they should have their **** together to have the AI like this in the first place.

Go sort their **** out!!

heyy. my through balls are significantly slower. is it meant to be that way? lol. maybe because the ball's heavier but i was under the impression that through balls are meant to played in aggressively.

they are not slower the range is smaller or the distance which the pass can go.

max through ball range used to be 150, & i dropped it significantly.

Whenever i try and change game speed from 1 to 2 the game crashes for some reason...

i dont know i dont have that problem utkarsh86, but i leave it at 1 because its more realistic,
than having players bolting around on the pitch.

you can try using the original ai.ini & copying everything from my ai v.3 except the game speed.

then change the game speed to what you want & replace mine.

I've played a few games with v3 all set as Regularcat set them and I must admit at first it was strange but now I've got use to it and I think it is a much better and realistic game...

I realise that v3 is the final edit - but I was wondering if the AI now does tactical substitutions, and actually changes their formation during the game?

I realise that could be a little more complex to achieve. Just thought I'd ask the question.

ive played 4 games on v3 now the only change was i increased speed to 2.. I found it very easy to beat the goallie from long rangers and placed shots in the corner almost to easy.. Anyway to make then tougher to beat?

I've played about 4 games now. The first one was a goalfest, and I was thinking - what the hell is this?!

I soon figured out how to defend, and there have been some very tight midfield battles - although I am still yet to win a game (on World Class).

I have found that the ball seems to "float" a lot more on mid ranged shots. It's easy to cross the goalie and hit the top corner from just outside the box. I guess that is more realistic though. I have been watching EPL games and trying to compare for realism - but it's a tough thing to match up real life vs a game!

The game speed seems to be a little faster than what I was playing previously. If anything I would want mine slowed down 10%. Again, if that's the general speed of a real game of football, then I'm happy with that. There does seem to be a bit of end-to-end stuff going on sometimes.

I really like the AI passing, their positioning (both CPU and my player) and the runs players go on. My favourite is the collisions though :)

I'm sure the more I play, the more I will get used to it. So I will hold my final judgement for now!

why are you getting your ass kicked ?

i can only win if i use barca, im playing w/ liverpool now & get my ass kicked
over & over again.

the defensive adjustments are under man marking.

why dont you use mine as a base for you & make your own that you can play
with.

i personally like the challenge.

i love how there are more balls spread over the pitch instead of the ball going to players feet everytime, it makes for a more realistic match & more
chances at counter attacks, not started by the gk.

I am using urs a base mate but i couldnt find the variables :biggrinx:.. Im beating the ai by a couple of goals with Arsenal.. Im just looking to tweak game settings here and there find the match for me...

& for everyone that keeps asking about the league transfers updates, its gonna be a little while, unless someone wants to help out.

its a lot of work to do & fifa isnt the only game i work on or the only forum i make addons for.

i mod madden 08 for pc, nhl 09 & 04 also.

so i spread my time out equally.

i suggest you get nhl 04 also, they modded the html & it has a nhl.com or espn interface thats fully compatible.

real goalie pads for the gks

real ices for every team in the game

etc, etc, etc.

too too much to list, you can completely change the games.

i think the support is the player runs but its just a guess i also presume the wing x pos is the position of the players on the wing...Though im not sure about anything.. I see a lot of clashing which would be fouls usually but are not called.. i want to increase fouls just a bit what are the parimeters for those as well..

i think the support is the player runs but its just a guess i also presume the wing x pos is the position of the players on the wing...Though im not sure about anything.. I see a lot of clashing which would be fouls usually but are not called.. i want to increase fouls just a bit what are the parimeters for those as well..

is there a possibiltiy to change a value that a.i. strikers are not so fit in finishing? In almost all cases the strikers made a goal with their first chance.
Thats not realistic.
