You are truly an idiot! I saw the PS2 game and it comes no where near to the pc in terms of graphics or gameplay. Just have a look at the crowd graphics.

Although i personally have not seen the PS2 version my brother has played it for hours at a buds house and he says that the PC version is without a doubt better both graphically & gameplay wise.

I have both.
PS2 is superior. The only advantage PC has is the ability to update the rosters and have real kits through downloads. the PS2 controller cannot be equaled.

I haven't touched my PC since I got the PS2 and Neutral is right Madden is far superior to anything on the PC.

Once the PS2 starts online th PC is dead.

LOL You think stats and MHz are everything, then how come there still aren't any PC games that look NEARLY as good as Shenmue on the Dreamcast. And the PS2 blows away the Dreamcast. Perhaps you don't understand, in Madden 2001 on the PS2 you can see the individual HAIRS on players arms. You can see leg and arm muscles flex, there's a scoreboard in each stadium that shows (LIVE) the action going on in the field AT THE SAME TIME THE GAME IS GOING ON. You can see players, especially QB's, SQUINT (SQUINT FOR GODS SAKE) before they're going to be hit. You can see tufts or dirt and grass stuck in a player's helmet after he hits the ground. And in the snow if you look closely you can see small swirls of the wind and snowflakes brushing up.

AND ALL THIS ON A FIRST GENERATION PS2 GAME -ie look at the first PSX games, they look crap compared to PSX games out now, and the same learning curve will happen with the PS2.

It's not a matter of what is more powerful, PC or PS2, it's a matter of what the programmers are able to do. For Madden 2001 for the PS2 the EA programmers knew that each owner would have the same system (ie the PS2), for the PC version the EA programmers have to cater for the lowest common denominator - ie they can't program the game for 1Ghz PC's with Voodoo 5's.

Another thing to point out is the TV, I have a TV with a comb filter and DVD component inputs and my PS2 is as crisp and as sharp as my PC.

A silly question to the guys that own a ps2 console and FIFA 2001 of course.

Is it possible in the future through the internet support that ps2 offers to download kits ,rosters etc etc and have them updated?
I believe that there is not any compatibility with pc version stuff but who knows maybe a ps2 soccergaming site may apears and "move the waters" :-))

My conclusion is that since PS2 FIFA does not have all the aboves what matter engine use or what matter graphic has or gameplay pc version will still rule.But i dont know in the future if we have changes.

Personally i dont have any complex with such things (i own a pc and not a console) but i would be delighed if PS2 had all the above futures.

Well for me, I haven't played the PS2 version of Fifa, but if it's anything like the PC one I'll still prefer ISS Pro Evolution. Personally, I don't believe patches can improve the gameplay to an extent that Fifa 2001 requires to be good enough. The only game that had patches that really improved the experience was Fifa 99, the patches for that made the game slightly more palatable. Special mention must go to POTD for Fifa 2000 however.

PS2 will have broadband internet support by next year. I wasn't really arguing over which version of Fifa is better (PS2 or PC), but rather responding to those who think the PS2 is inferior the PC.

I haven't yet seen Fifa 2001 for the PS2, but Madden 2001 for the PS2 blows away anything I've ever seen on any other computer or console.

You must have had a real traumatic experience with a PC at some point in your life. To each his own, eh???

Personally, I like the PC version better as with my computer the graphics and gameplay are virtually equal if not better on the PC. Furthermore, the best part of FIFA gaming for me is keeping up proper statistics and kits and downloading fun things. Makes you feel closer to reality or something...

Anyway, whichever version you have, just enjoy football!

Well I appreciate the insult, but I am no more a computer nerd than you. I play FIFA and fool around a bit on the net looking for info on the game at this forum. In order to have such a strong opinion about FIFA 2001 for the PC you must have played it a bit and you are posting on this forum. Doesn't sound much different to me. By no means do I spend my life on it, I am a University student, in fact a lot of the time I read. Anyway that's my piece.

Why would the PC version be worse?
-More CPU power
-Better graphics (If you don't use a 1995 computer ofcourse!!!)
-Patches, updates and kits

BUT! EASPORTS hasn't finished the game for the PC! There are several things missing (check other posts e.g. Rest of the world= Galatasaray...). They were able to pull this off because Intel or AMD or any other computer company can't stop them from creating a crappy game where as if they make a crappy game for PS2, SONY would beat their ass. A console's power has to come from GOOD games and if EA doesn't make them, SONY would make no profit. They are obliged to make good games for PS, PS2, Dreamcast, N64,... so they stop making good games for pc. Also if they made a perfect game, nobody would buy the next one...
I hope it's clear...
And: I'm sure that they can do better because EURO 2000 was a classy game (check other posts also) and several features are missing (e.g. shirts and shorts that get dirty)...

What so just because we have a computer it makes us nerds does it? And who cares about the PS2 controller, we are not talking about controls. And how do you know that we havent tried the PS2 FIFA 2001? We don't care about the quality of the graphics, we just like the PC version because you can download stuff for it to make it more realistic. Anyway I have an nVidea TNT 2 graphics card so I am happy.

Don't forget consoles run at low resolutions, and only the video card of Dreamcast and PC(Geforce2 & Voodoo) has Anti-Aliasing. The PS2 graphics is more powerful but the dreamcast graphics looks more beautiful. And we(PC) do not need Antialiasing if we play at 1280x1024 and above. http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif
