***Regularcat's crash fix method:
to all vista & 7 users having problems installing this patch or having the zdatas become
corrupted follow these instructions.

w/ corrupted files follow from the top.

w/o corrupted files follow from 2nd line.


retrieving files & installation

dont reinstall, get zdata 35, 36, 38 from the disc & replace them in the data folder & regenerate the fat & bh files.

then open duongs fusion v1.0 by right clicking on the rar file & hit open, not extract.

then drag out the fusion files to the desktop, you wont see the folder, but trust me its there.

now create a new folder named duongs fusion v1.0 lighting, then inside that folder create 4
folders names 35, 36, 38, enb.

then in folder options select organize - folder & search options - view tab - tick show hidden files & folders &
click apply.

folder enb - enbseries.ini, enb color palette, effect.txt, d3dx9_26.dll, d3d9.dll
folder 35 - eff-6-1 & eff-6-5
folder 38 - eff.tga, grass color.tga, grass dirt.tga, grass strip w/ alpha.tga
folder 36 - everything else

now open photoshop & open eff.tga & file save as eff.tga, so this way when
you untick show hidden files & folders eff.tga doesnt disappear on you.

also open enbseries.ini & file save as enbseries.ini (all files not txt) so this way
when you untick show hidden files & folders enbseries.ini doesnt disappear on you.

copy all the files from the enb folder to fifa main directory.

import the files in the other folders to the correct zdata w/ file master 10 & regenerate.

then go to folder options select organize - folder & search options - view tab - tick do not
show hidden files & folders & click apply.

duongs patch is in your game w/o fifafs errors or vista errors.

But what about the turf in the screens ? is your creation?

@arcadeshadow: by default all teams have the same kit shadows, because it's a texture file that will then be applied to the kit model.

but since Outsider87 was able to manipulate the codes so that different kit models can be used in the same match, I'm guessing different kit shadows can be applied too :) we just need someone to figure it out.

@silvone: nah, the turf is Rifat's. The pitch lighting is mine though.

A number of you have asked me to release the kit shadow. I say you'll have to wait a little longer, since firstly, I've just updated it and I want to show you the progress, and secondly, I'm going to release it in a patch! Yep, you heard that right. I'm releasing a patch after quite a while, and, for the first time, NOT a faces patch :P

the patch, to be called 'Duong's Match Graphics Replacement', is going to include:
-new kit shadows
-new grass lighting & shadows parameters
-new kits' & players' model lighting
-new in-game PostFX effects that will apply to both cinematics and normal match graphics.
-new tunnel lighting
-LOD and render rate reconfiguration
-each match time (sunny, overcast, sunset, night) has its own set of lighting parameters that are tuned to be as realistic as possible.

àh Dương cho mình hỏ,mấy cái pic đó bạn dùng freecam để chụp trong lúc replay game hay là chụp trong lúc đang đá trong trận luôn vậy?nếu là chụp lúc đang đá trong trận thì làm sao chỉnh cho cái góc nhìn nó rộng như thế nhỉ?:|,mình thử add cái camera.dat của FIFA09 vào FIFA10 nhưng nó bị lỗi màn hình trắng xóa chả nhìn thấy đc gì cả,trong khi camera trong FIFA10 của EA thì nó làm hình to wá,khó nhìn bao wát đc trận đấu :|

ồ, mấy cái screens đấy chụp lúc đá đấy. cứ vào settings>camera options, để tele hoặc sideline zoom out hết cỡ và height lên hết cỡ thôi :)

-new 3D grass - shorter and sharper, with new texture
-new generic grass texture
-new shorts shadows
-updated face shadows

screenshots look great, it looks like you have greatly improved the visuals. Shortening the 3d grass is good news, I played the PS3 version last night and the 3d grass is the perfect height, but the fifa PC version Grass was far too deep and unrealistic. Thanx Duong, keep up the great work!

Could you tell me the file to edit to edit the shade? I'd like a more plan one :)

oh, the shades don't have much to do with the kits being plain or not :) it's the values in pitch_light_x.txt and pitch_shadow_x.txt that determine the contrast of details on the kit shadows :) hope that helps :)

That night surf seems a little too bright for me.

Awesome work, the night brightness is really good now. But the night turf is still bit too green. It needed more contrast, look few youtube FIFA 10 NG videos and you will see what i mean.

Here are the next screenshots of the new 'Overbright Vibrant Mode' - this one operates under lighting qualities that have more vibrancy, which EA's original lacks, leading to unrealistic visuals. This mode is slightly different from the one I've been showing screenshots up til now (which is called 'Overbright Silverscreen Mode' - for its cinematographic effects and lower saturation)

-Extract this RAR file to any location.

-Backup your zdata_36.big, zdata_36.bh, zdata_38.big and zdata_38.bh by making copies of these files, then move them to a different folder. Preferrably, backup your WHOLE data folder (located at FIFA 10/data), if you have enough free disk space in your computer.

-Next, simply double-click on the mode you want to install, and wait for the command window to finish processing. And guess what! You're done :)

*(To have a more dynamic in-game experience, you may want to keep this folder open while playing the game. BEFORE or AFTER a match, you can switch from FIFA 10 to this folder, using Windows+Tab or Alt+Tab, and apply another mode. thanks for the comments guys :) so far has anyone else encountered this same problem? If you have, this must be a bug of the patch and I need to straighten it out.
For the solution: try moving zdata_53.big and zdata_53.bh to a different folder, copy fifa.fat from your install CD (CD:\FIFA 10\data) to your data folder (FIFA 10/data), replacing the other file when asked. Then reinstall my patch. See if that works.

Wow! Perfect... Cannot find any bugs till now.

I cannot instal it mate , there is the command window which appears just for 1 second and no more , what am I doing wrong or did I need to instal something else before

tried the patch, neutral looks brilliant, others im not so craxy about, i think you went to much with the face sharpness with the other 1s, they look like there all having breakouts, but neutral looks awesome

I installed this patch on my pc which has vista home premium & it crashes the game. I did an uninstall & reinstall, still crashed the game. I did a system restore to two days prior, reinstalled the game, still crashed. I unstinstalled again, checked all fifa 10 files were removed from directory & reinstalled and what do u know, it still crashed. I now have a broken fifa. Do u know how to get it to work again? please help... cheers

if you did a backup, as is explained, you not has trouble. Restore data folder and nothing more. The patch works perfect. I hope this help.

Actually I did do a backup, i copied it back in to re-replace the overwritten modded file. This was actually the first thing i did. But no it didnt work. Could it be to do with something changed in my registry (even though i did a system restore)


p.s. i also tried the setting where it restores the original ea graphics but this did not work

Hmm, maybe your fifa.fat has been corrupted somehow. You can try downloading FIFAMania Fat Regenerator and run it, see if that works :/

Just tried it Duong and it's fantastic...(Y), can you imagine how many people would have purchased Fifa 10 PC and if they are aware of your patch may now go out and purchase FIfa 10 pc.
Beautiful turf, superb shadowing and the players seem to have lost the Jaggies which they had before, looks so good.
Thankyou so much for going out of you way to make Fifa 10 what it should have been, for me personally this is an excellent patch and you should be extremely proud , not only with the work and committment you have shown, but also with your stance on modding , which should be for the community as long as people do not take advantage. ;)

I am using the neutral version , but I will take a look at the others and test thoroughly , let you know if there are any bugs that need to ironed out.

Night turf needs fixing.
Overall a great patch

Yes is a great patch, but here my feedback Duong! forget not this things.

The shape and shadow effect is too much on kits, looks too glossy.

The night turf has good brightness, but is still too green.

I don't know whether is a bug or driver problem. But the gamma swaps always from dark to bright and reverse, is not much but noticeable. When that is a bug, then fix that please.

Kit sharpness is miss, is too much you must that fix.

With testing so far , these are the things I have found too, but I also think it depends on what version of the patch you are using , . Some bugs/probs are patch version specific and some are not ie: Night turf colour etc.

So people need to be more specific

eg:
Which patch version they are using?
What the problem is ?

Well first thing i say is wow. Thank's so much this must of taken some time out of you schedule but wow i bet you thinks it's worth it now. Anyway's if you could make one huge patch that does everything id be willing to pay for it. See i have always been a PES man myself. I have extracted the files to a new folder, but when I click on DMGR - Neutral Edition.bat and it finishes, when I click on the fifafs.exe or the fifafs-win.exe neither of them load up anything? What am I doing wrong? It's a fresh install of FIFA.

Its mostly a corrupt extract/download try redownloading, same thing happened to me too !! redownloaded it and now it works like a charm, SIMPLY AWESOME !!!

Damn, my FIFA crashed after starting up the game, wtf im doing wrong? Just installed and did not installed or changed something else.. HELP! :(

I have extracted the files to a new folder, but when I click on DMGR - Neutral Edition.bat and it finishes, when I click on the fifafs.exe or the fifafs-win.exe neither of them load up anything? What am I doing wrong? It's a fresh install of FIFA.

Great patch but if anyone looking to play online its NOT online compatible... My game crashed repeatedly, a re installation fixed it...

i played with it online, and it was alright...well, using hamachi at least :)

Hi all, I have seen this through a thread on EA forums and just registered to thank Duong! Thank you so much brother, I won't need a better graphics card, at least for next year!

Still couldn't try patch because of slow connection and wanna wait until full version was released. I have a few questions,

1. How many beta versions will you release?
2. When will full version be released, roughly?
3. Is there any patch staff working on European Champions League and Europa League? FIFA really sucks without such organizations. I know they can't be added directly, because of licence, but there can be different organizations in ECC and Europa League format. Just name them as Champion Clubs Cup or something like that... I think we really need it!

And a suggestion from me,

Please make grass a little longer. It looks very sharp and deep with last edition, after "nextgen tragedy" I wanna see grass like forests!

Yes,it is Console style patch created by clementzuzu&Co.
It is a relly good patch for fifa 09 and i would like too have some turf colours on fifa 10. It was only a suggestion for Duong on turf style.

yeah, I have and I've posted it above... If you've downloaded and used my patch, the sunset and overcast turfs are currently looking exactly like what you've seen in your game. I'll update them later. I'll probably do something about the nets, yeah.

Duong bro, since you asked for feedbacks, I'd like to inform things I noticed in case it helps you improve your patch:

1) 'Sometimes' after beginning the match, the film noir effect in Silverscreen and Vibrance mode started after the first video or goalkick, before that the film noir effect wasn't there.

2) When playing, I noticed at night time Camp Nou though, when ball passes to other half of the field the lighting changes gets brighter or darker.

it might be because your are running the game on low settings, if so try putting on dept of field and shader all the way up. try this and see if it works.

I installed this patch on my pc which has vista home premium & it crashes the game. I did an uninstall & reinstall, still crashed the game. I did a system restore to two days prior, reinstalled the game, still crashed. I unstinstalled again, checked all fifa 10 files were removed from directory & reinstalled and what do u know, it still crashed. I now have a broken fifa. Do u know how to get it to work again? please help... cheers Actually I did do a backup, i copied it back in to re-replace the overwritten modded file. This was actually the first thing i did. But no it didnt work. Could it be to do with something changed in my registry (even though i did a system restore)


p.s. i also tried the setting where it restores the original ea graphics but this did not work


i have the same problum when game starts to load a match it stops working and gose to desktop ive done all what above quote said , ive got the direct download version of the game hope some one can help me fix the game

Thanks for all the feedback, people. I'm trying to do something about the lighting shift at night, as well as find out a way to apply the film noir effect to pre-match sequences.

For now, let's get on with a BRAND NEW feature: Depth of field lighting reconfiguration! Basically, I've updated depth of field settings so that during all cinematic scenes (goal scoring, missing the target, freekick, throw-in, pre-match, post-match, etc. etc.) and other scenes that apply depth of field (replay, instant replay), the lighting becomes more life-like: colors of far-away objects (including crowds) become lighter and blurrier. No more black crowds, people!
