Hi Guys,

I am not new into editing fifa and stuff however I have a strange problem that i can't fix.

2 days ago I installed CM09 because someone said you can use it to import graphical stuff. I did install it and i imported some kits. However after leaving CM09 I clicked on File>save which i also read that you shouldn't do that. Obviously the game crashed before the match starts. NOW I believe after that the strangest thing happened. I uninstalled the game and re-installed and every time i start to play a match the game crashes. I couldn't find out what the problem was so yesterday i installed CM09 to look at some files and i find out that the kits i installed before the fresh install are still there. I went into the game and looked at the team squads and the squads are those of fifa 09. Very wiered cause I have a fresh installed fifa. Now remember that to use CM09 on Fifa 10 you must use the fifa 09 database and i believe something happened there. Now every time i install a fresh fifa10 the game is the same. The database is that of fifa09 and not of fifa10 and the kits i installed before are there. I looked at every possible thing such as i made sure that i don't have old files in my C: program files and didn't find any. I also cleaned the registery files and everything. I am at awe because this has never happened before and now i can't play fifa. The game loads but when it loads a match it crashes to desktop because it is using the old fifa 09 database.

I hope someone can help me out

try deleting "FM09_temp" folder if u haven't already

or check the database with db master and import manually all tables from a database

That i believe was created by CM09. That is deleted already. I have installed/uninstalled the game several time without any changes.

I even exctracted the fifa database from the original and have replaced it with the one in the folders. It still uses the fifa09 database. I also tried to reset my squads from the game itself but no luck. I really don't know what to do except a format but i would not do that for just a game...

hav u tried installing 2 other location? what hdd capacity do you have?
diff partitions... try with a usb drive if possible ...
it might be the temp folders or application data hidden...be sure deleting the fifa my dics folder
anyway as a last solution try installing fifa 09 again and then fifa 10
or wait til cm10 appears.u have the retail or the cracked version?

have u tried a pm 2 outsider87 or rinaldo? they seem 2 be experts

I could try 2 upload u a version of my fifa.db...
the fifa.db.bak is present also in data\cmn?
anyway what I would do right now is deleting completely fifa10 and installing 09
see if that works fine......I suppose u should keep the 2 games simultaneously installed for a while....maybe it works-it can't mix up the db's for too long

Games like GTA IV saves game settings in the Application Data folder. I have no idea if Fifa 10 does this, but that would certainly explain the settings remaining the same after uninstalling. I don't have the game at the moment, but if anyone who has it can check that out, it would be helpful.

Thanks centropy82 for trying to help out mate. HDD capacity i have more then enough but on one partition. I have vista which i hate but i am stuck with it because the OS is on a hidden drive etc. I too think there are hidden files but i looked everywere to see if i have any old fifa files on drive c. I always keep my laptop clean so they must be hidden or something. What do you mean by ''be sure deleting the fifa my dics folder''?? I wown't mention which fifa i have and by that i am sure you know what i mean. I always try before i buy. Was going to wait until CM10 gets released so i can see what is wrong with the database because this is a real mystery. I don't like to bother Rinaldo or Outsider. I know they are good people but i hate to bother someone. They can always look here in the forums and help out if they can.

Oh please upload your fifa database for me please so i can see what happens... I will uninstall and re-install and will put your database in the cmn folder after the install and see what happens.

I received your files. Thanks. However the fifa database is still showing that of fifa 09 in the game. I am going to give up for now and wait for CM10 maybe it will do the trick but i doubt it. I am not willing to format the pc, atleast for now.

try 2 install xp sp2 next time
many people complain about weird game behaviour under vista or win7
but if u have the laptop i understand why u r stuck with vista
i never ran vista on my pc so i dunno what kind of folder structure/options it might use
maybe it handles game installing differently from xp.....
i guess 95% cm10 is the solution

Yeah i have a vaio laptop which has vista built in. I hate vista and can't change to Xp. I will wait for CM10 maybe it will do the trick.

in the program files & my documents. make sure before you uninstall fifa 10 look at the read me in the main support folder. it tells you what registry keys to remove.

cm09 makes a registry file when you file save & if yu dont remove that file no matter how many times you uninstall you will have the same problem.

when i uninstall games or any programs i use a program called your uninstaller 08,
it removes all files & registry keys related to whatever i uninstall so there is no trace of that program ever being on my pc.

Thanks. I use Vista manager for uninstalling something. However the first time the problem happened i didn't use that to uninstall CM09 and fifa 10. I am sure that some CM09 file is causing this problem and can't find it. I tried to install cm 09 and uninstall it with Vista manager. However when i install the game the problem persists.

Finally i managed to fix it. The problem was that CM09 created a folder named exactly the same fifa10 and it was hidden in program files but you could only see it with CM09. I saw it because i was trying to load a fifa database and i saw there was 2 folders named fifa 10 with just 1.72g files. I really don't know how it ended up there but i managed to delete it and the problem was gone. Basically the game was loading the files from the corrupted fifa 10 file folder.
