Hi all ,
I was recentely visiting Fifa-Infinity and noticed that the members of this Fifa modding site are NOT going to be sharing thier excellent work with the wider community, which I think is a crying shame:(
What do you think to the idea of a Law/Rule which could be drawn up by the modding community and headed up by a respected modder stopping anyone from stealing or re-distributing other modders work without thier strict permission and anyone found guilty of this would be punished in some way ie:name & shamed/Banned or some way agreed by New Modders commitee.
This would mean that the whole Footbal PC gaming community could enjoy the Fantastic work of all these great modders, without the modders having thier hard work stolen or re-distributed without thier permission.

It may not seem very serious to us but they use up many, many hours of thier own time to create thiers mods for us to enjoy a better Football game on PC to which all of us including EA should be grateful for.

Please let the modders know through this thread what you think about this idea, because most of us are honest regualar peeps just wanting to play Football games enhanced by using modifications and are not out to steal any modders work.
and PLEASE modders what do you think and would you consider this idea ?
Is it a good idea?
Is it workable?
Should modders be paid in donations?
etc

Interesting discussion :) it's been brought up then and again. However I believe this is a matter of individuality.

Some modders need time to complete their work, so everything shown here is strictly experimental - just to seek constructive suggestions for improvements.

Some do not want their work too widely spread: they want to see for themselves where and how they're appreciated by users of their works, so they decide to keep to a fixed number of sites for their releases.

Some might be self-centered and proud: they post pictures and information on their creations just for compliments - a way of self-praising, and never actually release the stuff.

Some people are simply too used to posting pictures, download links, everything, here on SG because that's just what they do and therefore somehow forget about the existence of other sites.

And you will know that a lot of them can be very generous when a webmaster from another website come asking for their permissions to share their works with that other community :)

So basically, no worries. Just be patient. Modders will release, and links will spread :)

i read this same thread over at ea's uk forums.

i think modders shouldnt be paid or receive donations, we, well i do it for the people who
play fifa, and to prove to ea its really not that hard to make good quality games for us pc gamers.

if we can do it, then im sure educated college graduates can do it too, correct ?

here i disagree with you, we shouldnt be paid ok thats right but not receive donations?

Rinaldo should put a donation banner in his sig i would freely give a few bucks for him the Creation Master he makes every year is an amazing tool and so other editors make amazing graphics and other stuff that should be thanked not just with some words "amazing, kiu.. etc." its just a donation, thats how gnu software survives, thats just my opinion

i have to agree with PK here. he is quite. donations should be given to modders. Ths way v can knw that d ppl really appreciate wat the modders do or they just do it to increase their posts and have the modders make more things fr them. Words, if rightly used can flatter a person and even though they may sund true its nt neccesary the are. Rinaldo has been making CM since when? fifa 06? And i really think he should get some donations. But than again it my opinion
