I am proud to announce the release of my first tool for a FIFA game.
It´s Football Manager to Fifa 10 converter.

With this tool you can easily convert the roster from any FM team into fifa format.

For using this tool you will need:
-FM2010 game or the team text files exported from it.
-CM10 (for creating the team)
-Unidb and MS Access (using DBM would be easier but unfortunatly i cant import my files with it.) Open Office should work i think. You can get a portable version of access if you search in the internet
-Net Framework installed.

The idea of the tool is:
You create the team in CM. Then load fm,select the team and export it in text format.
Use my tool to convert the text files into fifa format and import them with access and unidb.

For complete details see the video tutorial included in the pack.
Everyone can use my tool but its better to have some knowledge about fifa database.

Know bugs / features:
-Some playing styles not displaying correctly. (I think its a CM/DBM problem because if i set the playing
style to Midfield Maestro in DB Master it will appear as Ball winner in CM. I will ask Rinaldo about this.

-It´s not possible to set a team formation from FM. My tool assigns random formation. You need to put better formation
with CM.

-Faces are of course random generated but are better than in CM because i have excluded beards and strange hair colors
from the generator.

-If a team doesn´t have player numbers in FM my tool will give random numbers.


Because the player ids are random generated starting at 300.000 if you want to release a patch please convert it to CMS format first to make it easier to import.

AFAIK he is making the 32 qualified teams. I will make all the teams from qualifying rounds.

What teams/leagues do you want? I can export some files for you but it´s better to get FM.

I found found that some player names are being imported incorrectly.
Try this:
-When import the player files in access when appear the screen with the file contents click on "advanced" and the change the code to Unicode UTF-8.

I haven´t tested but it should work.

You need to create the view. Go to the view menu like you see it the tutorial and choose create a copy of current view. Name it as you want. Then select the view and choose modify current view or something like that and put the attributes like in the tutorial.

Yes i know about Genie Scout. I think you can use it if you create the txt with the same format but when creating my tool i want it to be independent of any FM editors.

Would you upload the files? Don't think that so many people have the FM and to be honest as I won't play it, I won't buy it. So uploading the files would make any of us able to use your tool.

You dont need to "buy" it.

After doing some tests i will start a very big project soon and i will need all the help because there will be many teams to convert.

I tried to convert a peruvian team, but when I clicked convert after putting the ID it showed an error : "Input string was not in a correct format".
I used darkjavo's text files.

i can't man.. in order to make the .cmp patch, i'd have to convert the file to fifa format first :( so until we don't know why we get the "not file found" message, we can't convert.. i just can make the text files, nothing more :( but if u want more caribbean or african text files, just tell me and i'll upload ' em.

It might be some File Paths problem.
Where you put the folder of my tool?Try putting it in the desktop. You could also try changing the exported files location. Put them in the desktop also.

Just use the original fifa db. Make a copy of it and rename to whatever you want and put in into data/cmn folder. You have also have a copy of your language.db.


A tip about my tool. Because there are tons of possible player positions combinations in FM is almost impossible to cover all possiblities.
The default position is GK so if in a team you find too many GKs jsut the their stats and fix the wrong positions in CM.
For the teams i have tested you might find 2 or 3 errors in some teams.

I have ALL the leagues in text file format... so my idea is to make a big patch with lots of leagues.. so we'd need kitmakers, flagmakers and ad-makers (considering that the converting tool creates players, faces and numbers; and that we might be able to use the minis and logos included in FM2010)...

darkvajo thanks for your answer, take your time on check the others teams, about Brazilian second division or serie B, are 20 teams, the others are serie C and D, please try first second division specially focused in thw 4 promoted teams to Seria A: Vasco da Gama, Atletico Goias, Ceara and Guarani.

lower polish teams 'd be difficult 0cause they aren't in FM. and ALL europe leagues? there are like.. 40 :S besides, bruno was converting those teams of the UCL qualifying rounds. Anyway, i have some teams in my agenda... after that i'll convert some teams 4 u bro (:

northern ireland is ALMOST done, we're just missing kits :)
wales, greece, austria and scottish leagues are on the text files, so i'll make 'em 4 sure :)
the other leagues aren't in FM.. but if u give the teams in those leagues, i'll look 4 em :)

text files are from FOOTBALL MANAGER man.. i'll try to do sth wih FM though, i can make the text and then just reduce the ammount of players on the team (: if i have time, i'll do it on the weekend ^^

i tried to convert the files with the tool after creating the team in CM10 (it works now :))... but it says "file not found"... what am i doing wrong? :(
