Is there a way to turn this off completely? It always turns itself back to the default whenever i restart the game. I turn it off and save profile but next time it's back on. Is there any way to edit this in a separate file so it is permanently turned off? Even when it is turned off it still auto switches occasionally, got anything guys?

In the FIFA 10 directory in your documents structure you will find a file called DEVAUX.TXT which can be changed using a text editor (even Notepad will do). In there should be a line for your controller in this format:

Logitech RumblePad 2 USB| 50| 0| 0|

The 50 is the auto-switching value, so just change it to zero and auto-switching will be set to the lowest possible level (which as you point out is not quite turned off altogether, but it is close enough to make the game playable)
