My solution for getting Fifa 2000 working on 3dfx based cards.

> Click START
> Click RUN
> Type REGEDIT
> Double Click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
> Double Click on Software
> Double Click on EA SPORTS
> Highlight FIFA 2000
> Double Click Thrash Driver and change value data to voodoo. (not voodoo2)

> exit Regedit

Install Directx6.1 from the FIFA 2000 cd.

Install the old 3dfx drivers you would have received on CD with the card when you bought it.

The new 3dfx drivers tend to freeze up the game, so I suggest not using them.

I hope this solution works for you, it certainly made the game more enjoyable now.

i am getting a 3dfx Voodoo 3 2000.if u have this card, r the graphics as good as screenshots. at moment i am using S3 ViRGE and graphics r choppy . when i put D3D on then the pitch looks much better but there is a black part on part of the pitch so u can't see the lines but the lines look much better than in software rendering.in software rendering mode the lines have no texture(too thick)net also too thick.can i improve the grahics with this graphics card? or will i have to get a Voodoo.

I would suggest buying a voodoo3 2000, i have recently purchased one, and it does the job perfectly, but don't just rely on the card, i would say at least a p266 with 64 meg would be needed to get good performance out of it.

I have two machines, a P2-450 with Voodoo3 and an AMD K63 400 with Voodoo 2. The Voodoo three works like a dream with Fifa 2000, graphics are outstanding. The V2 machine has a very juddery frame rate and poorer textures. Running both with DX7, win 98 and 128MB SDRAM,(100Mhz).
