Athought i am not a Liverpool fan, but i can say, that it's a great news for Liverpool fans. Good luck to'em. Amika 04-08-2001, 03:55:AM yape.. great news indeed to all liverpool fans... ;) J@MES 05-08-2001, 02:27:PM why is that good i would still expect them to beat Maccabi Haifa if they played them Jari Litmanen 05-08-2001, 11:06:PM Don't underestimate FC HAKA. They are after all 10 time Finnish league winners. This year they haven't played well in the Finnish league either. Last time Liverpool visited Finland they lost to Kuusysi 1-0 in 1991 (if I remember correctly.) The game will be moved from HAKA's home ground in Valkeakoski to the Helsinki Olympic Stadium. I am sure the match will draw a large audience as Litmanen and Hyypiä will star for Liverpool. But I really hope FC Haka can become the second Finnish team to star ín the UCL since HJK Helsinki in '98. Beating Liverpool won't be an easy job though. For HAKA perhaps impossible when taking into regard they always perform badly in European matches. J@MES 05-08-2001, 11:09:PM the new zealand rugby team do the haka before a match it is ment to scare the opposition Jari Litmanen 05-08-2001, 11:16:PM Yeah I've seen those too the pre-game rituals of New Zealand. Yeah as this HAKA issue has sent shockwaves in the media it has sent billions of Maccabi Haifa fans to the FC Haka website and they have literally flooded the web board on the site with insults. great eh. if you don't believe me go look for yourselves. www.fchaka.fi (http://www.fchaka.fi) The Don't 07-08-2001, 01:50:AM Why what's so difficult about Haifa? Liverpool could destroy them anyday if you ask me. Liverpool: 2001-02 Premiership Title COME ON YOU REDS!! We are going to rule England again! Well, if we won't then, we will rule Europe, because if we won't lose our strenth on England, then it will be lost on CL. Jari Litmanen 07-08-2001, 11:14:AM I just lost out on getting tickets two of my friends had to cancel plans of going to the game. Guess I have to watch it on TV like everyone else. Can't stop the rush... 07-08-2001, 12:06:PM Originally posted by FifaEngland -James: the new zealand rugby team do the haka before a match it is ment to scare the opposition LOL So that is what the dance is called. Stevie B 07-08-2001, 02:40:PM It's more of a ritual preparation for battle as opposed to Morrid Dancing (what's that all about?!) I found this translation at a New Zealand Rugby site, that said it was first performed at a Test match against Wales in 1905, and was met with thunderous applause. The Welsh captain then started to sing the National Anthem, with some of the team joining in through the verse. The crowd got the gist just in time for the chorus, and just blew away the All-Blacks (unfortunately, it's not so easy today) Anyway here are the words: Before the Haka is performed by the team, the Haka leader, normally an All Black of Maori descent, will instigate the Haka and spur on those who are to perform the Haka with the following. Ringa pakia Uma tiraha Turi whatia Hope whai ake Waewae takahia kia kino English Translation Slap the hands against the thighs Puff out the chest Bend the knees Let the hip follow Stamp the feet as hard as you can. Ka Mate! Ka Mate! Ka Ora! Ka Ora! Tenei te ta ngata puhuru huru Nana nei i tiki mai Whakawhiti te ra A upane ka upane! A upane kaupane whiti te ra! Hi!! English Translation It is death! It is death! It is life! It is life! This is the hairy person Who caused the sun to shine Keep abreast! Keep abreast The rank! Hold fast! Into the sun that shines! Jari Litmanen 07-08-2001, 03:18:PM I never knew FC HAKA was so popular *LOL* They even have a dance dedicated to them. Not even ManU can compete with that. Stevie B 07-08-2001, 07:05:PM Would you tell Jonah Lomu to his face that he is a Dancing Queen? I think not!! Jari Litmanen 07-08-2001, 11:40:PM Damn Houllier is a twat at the pre-game news conference at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium he was reported as saying (I saw it on TV) "FC HAKA is a tough team we have come here to win." No really I thought you came here on holiday. Where do they get these people... Help? 08-08-2001, 02:29:AM LOL, he just wants to put Haka in the high ratings, so he won't be assamed if he will lose and that might happen. Jari Litmanen 08-08-2001, 02:14:PM Imagine if HAKA does upset the Reds today !The game will be sold out 37,000 so HAKA do have the support they need. Help? 08-08-2001, 10:01:PM It's a half time, right now and Liverp'l is winning 1-0 throw Heskey's goal. |
