Hey...

I was wondering if anyone knew the name of a player who plays for Haka Valkeakoski, the Finnish champions... His last name is "Marco" I think and his first name begins with an "A"... I think he plays in midfield

Thanks :)

Sirrus, I think you mean Marco Pogioli. I am not sure what country he comes from though. The best foreign player at HAKA in my opinion is Andras Vilnrotter. He is a great goalkeeper.
Another fantastic player for HAKA is Valeri Popovitch he has played for Herenveen as well and I think he deserves to play for the Russian national team. He has played for Russia under 21. I don't think HAKA will win the Finnish league this year though.

Hey, guys, thanks so much for your help! I followed the link Jari gave me and saw the "Marco Antonio" listed there, and figured it was him. And as our Welsh friend pointed out, yeah, he's Brazilian. Thanks. :D

POpovich... is he a midfielder or attacker? If he is a midfielder, he has nothing to do in the Russian squad, but if he is a forward (and a good one, obviously) or a defender, he deserves a try...

Russian coaches still would rather try 23-year olds than 29-year olds like Popovich... But again, we do not have much depth at the attack, so if he is a striker, why not give him a chance.. There had been a few surprising starts in the attack for Russia in this year's international matches.. Heh.

PS one of the other reasons might be that Finnish league is not exactly the best league in the world... But since the guy had been the MVP of the league quite a few times now, he would probably be good enough for a league like Dutch, where he already tried out..

Popovitch was really good in Herenveen but wanted to stay in Finland. He is a striker and really deserves to play for Russia.
