some guy in the fifa 2000 forum asked why there are not any names on the back of the shirt and this is how i replyed back.
"man who cares, the important think is the game play. ea provides the best soccer graphics anyway, who cares about their names at the back of the jerseys. to do that you need a lot of memory? well alot, and then the game will be ****ty. so LETS FORGET ABOUT THE NAMES ON THE JERSEYS and concentrate on the play".
what do you guys think

I agree and also if anyone has wathced any national team games recently you will notice that they to have gotten away from names on the jerseys. The demo is ok but hopefully the full version will be better. We'll find out tomorrow in the US

The only reason the international teams don't have names on their shirts is because fir friendlies and World Cup qualifiers the players have to be numbered 1-11 with 12-18 on the bench, and as some of the shirts are re-used (not by the same player) it would be a waste to name them all.

Yes but that's not the only reason, there is also tradition. Traditionally, shirts had no names on the back! You think England, or Italy don't put the name on the shirt for a money saving reason, I don't think so. Players probably go through 2 shirts on game day(players change shirts at half-time) and then swap that shirt at the end of the game, or else chuck it in the crowd. Also it takes about 5 minutes to put lettering on a shirt.
So I agree names on backs of shirts for me is a big non-issue.
BTW. New York Yankees never had names on back of their shirts either, while most other baseball teams do, for reasons of tradition.
