I know one for sure, his name is Tsakalidis and he's playing for the Phenoix Suns. He's a Center. He a back-up right now, but he was just drafted.

And about us "supposidly" being good in basketball...Their is no doubt WE ARE GOOD.

Our NT is one of the top 5 in the world. 2 teams from Greece (AEK Athens, Panathinaikos) won 2 EURO CAMPAIGNS.(Like the CL and Uefa Cup of Basketball).

Our League is VERY strong.

bottom line-we are VERY good at B-ball...Who would have thought huh?

As for Russian basketball, Russia does not have a league like Greek, Spanish, Italian, but it is certainly one of the strongest in Europe. As for players in NBA -- in 1999, Anrei Kirillenko was drafted by Utah Jazz in the first round something like 17th-24th overall.... He is not playing yet, because he is just 19. But will. Next year, as Jazz players are getting very very old.

This year Russian clubs in basketball spent A LOT of money on american foreigners.... Like the leader of Canadian team on Olympics, Micksd.... We'll try to do good in the euro-cups this year (we should)...

as for the last WC (in 1998 or 1998) which was played without the NBA stars, Russia got 2nd place behind Yugoslavia, who are good too... So in Europe, Greece, Lithuania, Yugoslavia, Russia, Italy are the powers...

on the WC, btw, we beat Greece something like 60:48... Greece scored 48 points for sure... That was the lowest amount of points Greece ever got... And in the semis, we played USA. We were loosing the whole match, but pulled extra iin the last 2 minutes and won...

Yeah the last WC campaign I remember Greece didn't play up to their capable level. The coach SUCKED and the players weren't on top of their game.

Next WC or EURO we should bounce back...

Our basketball is the best in scandinavia and I'm sure the greeks know TOPO from Helsinki. They were in the final of the basketball euro championship. Like u said the UCL of basketball. Hanno Mottola will be in the starting line-up for the Hawks tomorrow when the season starts. But I know **** about basketball... heh

You mentioned basketball when we talked about sports. I know that greece has a supposidely good league but do you have any NBA players?? Finland has one, Hanno Mottola and he plays for the Atlanta Hawks... he is the first and only scandinavian player in the NBA. Finland is definately the best basketball team in scandinavia and our old coach is now coaching Germany, Henrik Dettman...
