Figured it was time for a thread for these two matches, with the kick-off for the Oranje match only an hour away.

Anyway, word's just in that Robben is going to start versus Slovakia. He'll play on the right, Kuijt on the left. Beware, wing backs of Slovakia, the Robbenator is coming!

should be a comfortable game for the Netherlands, 2-0 win sounds about right

seems really easy for Netherlands .. well done Slovakia .. reaching the 2nd round in the first appearance after beating Italy is something you should be proud of.

god all games involving the dutch thus far in the WC have been dire. They are turning into mourinho's chelsea.

The dutch play like we used to.....and as we all know, you can get far with this kind of play....

The referee was favorizing holland the whole time.

Still, SVK (not SLO! - people usually get punched in the face for joking with that in my country) were not good enough today, so the result is justified.

pulling for Chile in this one ... Alexis & Co. have surprised and impressed me at the World Cup ... I watched their farewell match against my boys from Zambia, and they didn't look half as good as they have done in South Africa ... their match against Spain was shaping to be epically open, but the red card and situational tactics spoilt what was a promising start to that match ... I think a potential quarterfinal against Holland would be just as entertaining; definitely more so than any match against Dunga's disgrace to ginga ... come on Chile! put on a dream show to get to the quarters!

Brazil 2-0 Chile
Robinho - Kaka - L. Fabiano scores

as KingPaulV said before: "Brazil is Brazil....and Kaka is still Kaka ..."

Yeah kaka still sucking, i'm amazed with Robinho improvement, especially in the collective game, he's playing like a classic playmaker.

Yeah that assist to Fabiano really sucked.

No, it was brilliant, but he is still far from his 2007 level...

I feel sorry for Bielsa, great Coach but didn't have the players to play face to face against Brazil, when the canarinha gets 1-0 and wants to play, the game it's over, you can choose to lose with that score but playing "chicken game", or just go for the equalize and lose 3-0/4-0.

Anyway, the only way to win 'em it's attacking and scoring first, otherway pick up your stuff and get your ticket to fly back home.

shame for Chile ... they tried, but never looked like breaking through ...

I'm looking ahead to the quarterfinal already ... Kaká playing in Fabiano for the second goal reminded me of the chance that Vittek had and spurned against Holland today ... that'll be the difference for the Dutch, who will need to step it up big time in defence ... that is in addition to needing all the big guns up front to finally bring their A game ... I fancy Robben taking on Bastos; but Kuyt v Maicon won't work, and I'd rather have Elia's pace so he can make runs behind Big Doug, and a ball over the top can put him into space -- where he can't be muscled off the ball ...

anyway, sad for Chile ... looking for to Holland shifting up a couple of gears ...

We're going to get our first real test on Friday. I'm still not quite sure we're going to make it very far in this tournament. I guess we'll be able to find that out in the match versus Brazil.

Oh, well, it’s a pity to see Chile out so early. Gotta love Bielsa, I actually would like to have him coaching my club, Corinthians (we already had Passarella, so why not? ;)). Of course we don’t have the money (nor the will) for it, it’s just a dream...

Love this site, by the way: http://www.bielsanoseva.cl/

It's Chile's own fault for settling for 2nd in the group instead of trying to beat Spain.

Filipower

Sure, they'd beaten Portugal easily.
