What's all the fuss with this "The Crippler" dude...
everytime he releases a kit everybody is real keen bout what he does and are very enthousiastic about his work.
I cheked out his BARCA and Internazionale 01/02 kits back @ FifaMLS and although you have to say the design is good the quality of the drawing is quite atrocious really it looks quite dirty the lines not being softened at all...and the smaller versions of the pics look awfull

I have made a few kits. I have only ever made 4 kits from requests. I have heard no fuss though. What the hell are you talking about with that. I am trying to make better kits with PSP7. I have never claimed to make great kits because I am only starting, I am a novice. Give me some time please. Ozzie (Fifa Mls) posted that I have made patches for Fifa CS but that isn't true, he made a mistake. I have seen some of your early kits and they were not as good as the ones you make now. Just give me some time. :p

there hasnt been any real fuss about his kits from what ive seen....

and Crippler, keep up the good work, practice makes perfect and all that...

The Crippler hasn't sent any work in as far as I know - maybe Ozzie got confused because of the close relations between FCS, FIFA MLS and Soccered. But since that row I had with Crippler over copied work subsided I've given him some advice with how to make good kits and he's continually improving his artistic skills so that he can make great kits.

Hell, everyone starts off crap - you should see the first ever kit I made, which was for FIFA 98. It was a Welsh national jersey (the red one with white and green stripes on the front and back) and it looked really sh*te! But look at the standard of my kits in recent times (especially the up and coming EMP2 patch).

And why do the curved bits on my kits look so good? I use the freehand line tool in PSP7 to do them, and if they look sh*t, that's what the UNDO function is for...

As they say, practise makes perfect so give some respect man. There is no fuss right now, but who's to say in a few months he's right up there with the top kit makers like myself?

Well, my first kit was rubbish.


Actually many of the new kits I make are rubbish, mind you.

Anyway I have two bones to pick with ShearerM4...

First of all I noticed he copied my Leicester City kit, coloured it purple and added a Dream Team logo on the front and said it was his. But people do that anyway so I might as well let that go...

But worst of all he sent in an EPL kits pack from various authors to $GDC. Whilst he did credit me I was annoyed because...
1) He never asked my permission to include the kits.
and 2) He sent them to $G, which is totally against my policy. I never send anything to that $CUM site because of what happened on 16/10/00.

ShearerM4 even had the cheek to say some fantasy Newcastle blue kit was a copy of some other guys. Face this - it was a pic of that actual kit which I sent to Schmikes by mistake. The proper away kit is black shirt with blue under the arms, white shorts and socks. I dunno if they have a new away kit (should do considering their new home has lots of black in it and their away kit is therefore pointless), but I will find out that myself.

BTW ShearerM4 - so maybe you are English, but you certainly don't live there :p

Also I'd like to say that what I told you bout that Newcastle lignt blue and orange kit is true... it's a totally fantasy kit, their new away hasn't been made yet. I was trying to stop you from making kits for nothing.
Also you say that you never send stuff to SGDC but i'd like to say... nice downloads center sorry download spot @ fifacs, i've never even seen it yet, and i'd be surprised if I ever do.

The fact is that the Downloads Spot is certainly no more, due to the fact, as YJ said, the Downloads Centre that we're all doing to get back at $G. I'm still not sure whether FIFA MLS will co-operate with it however.

Anyway I never made a blue Newcastle away kit - can you friggin' read? That kit was the fantasy kit made by that bloke for the $GDC and I just happened to take a pic of that by mistake rather than the correct black/blue away kit they wore in 2000/2001 season.

Hmm with comments like that is it any wonder people are starting to get pissed off with you M4? I even tried to get $G to remove the kit pack you sent cos it had my stuff in - submitted without permission, but they failed to comply just because of who it was telling them.

In future don't ask to include my kits in anything cos the answer is no. I make that decision because you slagged me off.

Yeah unfortunately for the Crippler I went real mad at him for using my kits and stating they were his, but he was man enough to send an e-mail stating he made a massive mistake and apologised for what he done.

I accepted his apology and since then I've become friends with him, giving tips on how to make good kits and that. He is still learning so give him a chance. Many of the top patch and kit makers have come a long way since the FIFA scene was only small (albeit still plaged by Mad Max and his £GO sites - yes that is a pound sign instead of an F).

ShearerM4 might not know this, but about 10 years ago Newcastle were really sh*t - no honestly they were. For the enjoyment of those getting sick of M4's stupidity here's 5 facts of crapness about Toon...

1) In the 91/92 season they were so bad that they needed a "failed England manager" to save them from dropping to the third division!

2) In 1972 they got beat by a non-league team in the FA Cup!!! Yeah, ShearerM4 - ever heard of Hereford United? They're a small Conference team near the Welsh border (wannabe Welsh but are English...) and have a big HEFFER as their mascot.

3) I'm starting to take the piss innit? So here's some more...
Remember the games at Anfield in 95/96 and 96/97 season? Classics weren't they...

BUT THEY ENDED UP 4-3 TO MY FATHER'S TEAM... :) :) :)

4) When Newcastle played my team in a pre-season friendly in '94, they fielded a full strength team and reckoned they'd hammer us. 90 minutes later, we beat you 6-2. Although this was before Shearer arrived.

5) And this one is for the Man U fans - with Shearer in the starting lineup who could ever forget their performance in the 1996 Charity Shield then eh? And for extra fun what about the 1999 FA Cup Final???

I got a few tips for your Barcelona kit...

1) It seems as if the white lines on the front were painted using the draw tool. Instead keep practising with the line tool (freehand, line thickness set to 2, anti-aliased) and try to get the line nice and smooth so that it don't look so rough and ugly.

2) The same applies for the collar - get it so that the edges of the collar just blend in with the rest of the kit.

3) For the actual design - the stripes are not as wide on the new kit so inbetween the white curves there should be five lines of more or less equal size (three blue, two red). Of course you can't get the kit exact because one sleeve is different to the other and this ain't possible to replicate because there's only one image of the sleeve (stupid EA).

4) Try pracising with slightly darker colours for a more life-like kit. They look a bit pale due to the add-on shading.

Follow these tips and you'll make great kits in no time. I've got a new shading technique lined up but it won't be used in EMP2 as I have 50 kits to make from 1000 so it's pointless changing them all again!
