I have been thinking what EA can improve in the FIFA series, and it FINALLY came to me, here it is:

I havent played the demo yet, so I dont know if this is fixed, but the main problem in FIFA is ALL THE SHOTS HIT THE NET. This means either you score or the goalie saves it when you shoot, and thats not what happens in reality. the ball DOES MISS THE NET. not every shot goes on target... TONS of shots miss the net... THAT is why there is such high scoring.

EA can fix the problem by making shots miss the net and including options for it..... I mean come on, youve seen pros and even they dont hit the net.....

in NHL 2001, the puck doesnt always hit the net, and u also to have sliders to make the puck miss the net(or not) more!!!! FIFA NEEDS GAMEPLAY SLIDERS.

thanks, but I just needed to let that out....

Maybe I'm not that good, but not all my shots are on goal. The power bar means that if you add too much power (ie into the red zone), the ball usually rockets over the bar. Also I seem to hit the bar a lot which is cool as it deflects. I think this makes the game more realistic. This was using the demo version of FIFA 2001. I haven't played the previous versions on PC, so maybe they have fixed the problem.

I have also encountered situations in which my shot misses the net, however CSF is right about MOST of the shots hitting the net. especially from far. However some people like this, so maybe it would be in EA's interest to implement an "auto aim: ON/OFF" in the options menu to both beginner and advanced users can have a choice in their style of play
