View Full Version : John Motson and Mark Lawrenson.
don't you guys think that we are tired of these comintators? and we would like to hear different commintators for fifa 2002.
i am pretty sure that i am tired of hearing them commentate.
Liverpoolfc 11-10-2000, 06:16:AM Well not me I love John Motty Motson and Mark's not great but he was a Liverpool player so I don't mind him but I know alot do cause his frustrating really to tell you the truth LOL.
Liverpoolfc:
i don't mean they suck. jonh motson is great but its been 3 years and i got tired of his voice and same words. i mean he is a great commintator in real life but ea should change him with another. don't you think. or he would change his words, like adding more commantary words, and leave john. i don't know.
what other people think about this?
Personally, Motty will be a welcome addition back to fifa as far as I'm concerned, because I've had to deal with Julie Foudy and some other wretched commentator for a year. It never seemed quite right when I had Beckham trying to avoid a tackle from Desailly and I heard a girl's voice say "Good soccer!" As far as the other post about all the players names, I totally agree. Fifa rtwc 98 was dead on, I don't know why fifa 2000 lacked all the names. Maybe here in America it was because of the special emphasis on the MLS...hehe...even though I live in the US, I haven't used fifa 2000 to play an MLS league game even a single time...
Big Johnny F 11-10-2000, 11:48:AM Motty is a good commentator but EA should have more in there, it seems like they are only using the team that work for BBC (an english tv channel). They should make a pool of at least 3 primary and 3 secondary commentators that are picked at random for each match.

regwright 11-10-2000, 02:06:PM My guess is that recording with the same commentator can save a lot of time and work. For example, Motson had to voice all the player's names for FIFA 2000 and EURO 2000, and they probably bank the recordings and use them again. 17 leagues - 15 teams per league - 22 players per side - if all the players names are announced, imagine how big a task this is for EA to hire Motson to sit ina studio for a week announcing everyone from Adebola to Zahovic ...
::shinji:: 11-10-2000, 05:31:PM I'm getting sick of those guys too, personally I like the ESPN guys John Paul Dellacamara and Tommy Smyth.
Liverpoolfc 11-10-2000, 08:23:PM I agree with you f that the commentary is not as good as it could be like in fifa 98 RTWC but I think it would be great if they had another commantator so that one match Motson could commmantate and the next match the other one can.
sabaho 11-10-2000, 08:35:PM i think the euro2k commentary was better than
fifa2k as far as diversity..so that may be promosing..i don't think they will change them...as u guys mentioned..
p.s. kill julie faudy and that other idiot!
fredericofb 11-10-2000, 09:21:PM I think they should have more than one primary commentator, and more than one secondary commentator, ex: in one game jonh with mark,in other game another guy with another one,etc...
It should add a bit more realism to game!
Liverpoolfc 11-10-2000, 09:41:PM Yeah mate thats what I mean.
Martyn Tyler and andy Gray, then there's Barry Davies and Alen Hansen. They should be in too
Big Johnny F 11-10-2000, 11:16:PM Clive Tyldsley
sabaho
who is julie faudy ?
sabaho 12-10-2000, 02:59:AM your lucky u didn't go through that then..
in the fifa2k version at the US..they had and AMERICAN GIRL FROM THE US TEAM called julie faudy commentate!!!!!!!!!
they said they won't do that mistake again.
oh yeah i herd about that before the release date of fifa 2000.
hehehe
hehe
regwright:
in fifa 99 i herd all the player names. but in fifa 2000 i was very disapointed about not hearing all player names. how did they do it in fifa99?
john motson is a great commintator but we defenetly need a different voice in fifa. what they can do is keep john motson and change his voice and use him in 3 - 4 diffenrt voices, i am sure we have the technology for that. what do you guys think. because i am happy with his commintating job but the voice is just the same every game and i think the game it self gets boring, don't you guys think?
steve-e-o 12-10-2000, 08:25:PM Mark Lawrenson is a twat.
Drinky 12-10-2000, 09:30:PM Groundskeeper Willy in FIFA 2001 then? http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif
Phil_R5 12-10-2000, 09:44:PM its not the comentators that are ridiculos, but some things they say.. like they yell the name of a player when is just doing nothing.... oh well.. i dont like to criticize Fifa games, because i dont like them.. they are to stupid and mechanized, they're made for the non-loving football fans.. (USA for exe) because football its more thant those fancy moves and stuff.. ISS PRO FOREVERRRRRRRRR!!!!!!! EA!!! go and learn with Konami http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif
Big Johnny F 12-10-2000, 11:44:PM Great message TeKNoS, that is the only one here that has made me laugh, keep it up http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif
A laughing BJF
TeKNoS 13-10-2000, 06:57:AM I like that one Scottish dude from ESPN with the thick accent. It sounds like he's chucking up a fat one to spit when he says certain things, it's really cool. I think they should get him. John Motson has always been my favorite, and I like his voice, but sometimes he says stupid things in the game that aggravate more than motivate me. I don't think they should trash him though. If you want different voices, there are patches out there. Motson is here to stay.
LOL I'm not even going to buy the stupid game, so why do I care ?
