2 questions:
first: i hope fifa2001 works perfect on my machine! i have a pentiumIII 600mhz, asus geforce 1 (32mb), 192 mb ram! does it work???
second: in nhl2001 i have a big prob, every time i choose my controller or i want to configure it, the game crashes back to win2k! but thats not a win2k prob i think! but 2 weeks ago, before i reinstalled my win2k it works perfectly! and now, this f***in crash! i have just installed the newest directx version, directx8 beta for win2k! so my question is: can the same happen to me with fifa2001???

Last I heard games not written specifically for DX8 won't run on it very well, or at all... I would use DX7a unless the game you are playing comes with DX8

Get new drivers for your game controller, it solved the problem for me.
