I have always said that a reason why Spain managed to win the World Cup was because FIFA and the world wanted to. Almost all of their goals scored in the tournament was overlooked by "suspiciously" bad referees. Now that they have accomplished it, FIFA doesn't give a crap about them anymore and their true side is shown. They won't reach further than the quarter-finals at this EURO, if even less.

Oh, and congratulations to the Portuguese NT.

score on thread title alert

Memorable performance and result...like I said before I don't remember us play this well against such opposition since I don't really know when.

Paulo Bento is doing a hell of a job so far, one can only hope he keeps it up (Y)

I just think this wrongly disallowed goal is a shame.. Not only is Pique placing Nani in ONside position, when Nani touches the ball it's already passed the goal line.

Ronaldo exaggerates at times, but this... What an amazing goal, it looks like something you'd do in FIFA11. Deserved to be a goal (even if it was, actually).

You just had to put the score didn't you... and Here I was planning on watching it later...

Well, someone had to do it... :(

What a score-line though... and a damn shame that goal was disallowed

I can understand that goal being disallowed, Nani looks offside to me and the ball might not have completely crossed the line.

If there's anyone to blame for that goal not counting, it's him, the ball was going in.

Haha if I was Ronaldo I'd be so pissed at Nani. That was goal of the month material..

No offside and the ball was in. Nani shouldn't have done it and maybe he distracted the referee, but bottom line it's the ref's fault.

What a titf*ck heading that in at the line when it was going in, after C. Ronaldo did all the hard work. Not that I ever will but I tell you if someone did that at my team after I did a rush like that I would be so pissed at him.

all that aside, do you have any idea why cristiano ronaldo acts like a 10 year old on the pitch.. yes nani shouldnt have touched it and yes even if he had touched it should have been awarded a goal but, his reaction after the incident was pure childish.. as his handling-the-ball fake, and as his solo celebration after carlos martins' goal.. the goal was not allowed and we still know he's capable of doing those things anyway, so why the continuous look-what-I-did attitude?.

paris is right.. he's far too sissy even for her..

a lot.. look I've always liked portuguese national team.. I just cant stand players like cristiano.. history is full of talent like him and still he thinks he's better than anyone else.. he was like "look now I'm gonna defeat the world champions on my own" and played accordingly..

I'm the first to bash Ronaldo when he acts like a pussy, but I cannot argue with the way he reacted. The fact that I wouldn't react like that doesn't mean I wouldn't be every bit as pissed as he was, it's just different ways of reacting. Jesus ****.

I hate his smug ass, and hate him even more since he's playing for Real, but I can't fault him for that. That's a piss poor call.

To the untrained eye, one might think Spain won the World Cup because they were clearly the best team in the tournament and opposing teams rarely dared to attack.

But you're absolutely right, they actually won because "FIFA and the world wanted to." And this 4-0 friendly match proves it. Very astute analysis.

Hey Fili, how about them Norway? (Let's avoid discussing Denmark for the time being, especially considering our current government.)
