I thought England were lucky-but with great skill...The game could have been diffrent if just Gallacher had scored...But now he didn't.
And don't forget the crossbar by Dodds (I think it was he..)

Also don't forget that England should have scored about 5 times in the last 10 minutes! As long as we are saying they should of you know. Also England were away, at Wembley when things really go England's way, we'll see 5 or 6 goals! When Scholes hit the second, I thought we would have another Poland, 2 international Hat Tricks in one year, imagine that! Oh Well, 2 is good enough

I didn`t see it cause Australian tv sucks ass they decided to play a repeated cricket game for the 5th time.

Anyway i read the match report and it sounds like us scots were just unlucky (like we hadn`t heard that one before)Brown should have played McNamara. So, to a tough game down south to try and salvage something.

I'm just sick of seeing the hate relastionship between England and Scotland. Why can't we just get along? Being English myself, I did not want England to play Scotland to get to euro 2000, just because of the fact of that if England does not do well in Euro 2000 then I could support Scotland but its not going to happen. I did not see the game myself, but if a team plays well or average, does not mean that you can go and put them down. England won so just move on and support scotland in the next game. If you can do that without a bad comment about any team (not just england )whenever your team plays. Anyway my point is lets just get along with each other and stop this bull ****e

I just have to say that even if it didn't seemed like that before-I think it was good that England won. Because I think they will have a bigger chance in Euro2000. Not for I dislike Scotland-But I have to admit that England have the better players...Even if we beat them.... http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

Scotland weren't unlucky, just not good enough. The whole game I felt England did no more than necessary, and probably would have turned up the tempo if Scotland had gotten one back (And I don't support England, just watched the game as an unbiased spectator).
Scotland didn't look to have the creativity to break thorugh England's defense, particularly in the second half. England really controlled the game, and I was a bit disappointed by the scots. And I honestly don't understand why a guy like Colin Hendry wasn't sent up when Scotland had corners. Their best player in the air, stuck in his own half? Now THAT'S stupid! In general, it seems the lads up front for Scotland was not physically strong enough to threaten Englands big guys in defence. I'm afraid the Wembley game will be a formality

not bitter, we were well done! but the first good team the english face will beat them .. drop She- ra , yard slow now, and if you keep that Semen in goal you are asking for it!

The first half was really good. Scotland had one really good chance the score when Gallacher broke away 1 on 1 with keeper, but Seamen made an excellent save. And then the shot off the cross-bar, the ball goes down 5 meters from line a simple tap in but no one there...
England wasted only one excellent chance when Owen messed up a three on one breake-away chance by having the ball bounce off his foot.
The two Scholes goals were brilliant, especially the first one. I think Andy Gray was a bit harsh on Scotland for bad defending on the corner, there were defenders on both sides of him, but things like that happen, sometimes you score off a corner and it is not defenders fault at all.

Second half was a let-down as there were practically no chances to score for either team. That England could have scored another of course what did you think Scotland were pushing all the men forward at that point.

Watched the game at last. Have it on SBS in Australia. Its a good thing to hear that no player has been sent off in a game between England and Scotland for 127 years. We should show the rest of the world how to play a clean game. Mostly Argentina... Cheats.... I have not problem with the country Argentina just there international football team...

I wish we could both reach Euro 2000 but it was unlucky we got each other damn draw. I agree we stick with each other and support each other.

There were I believe 9 yellow cards in this game, so don't think it was all clean. Spanish refs in general are the worst though is what it seems like.

Maybe no one ever got sent off in the England-Scotland derby is because English referees are generally more tolerant of hard physical play...
