Could anyone tell me is it worth it to buy FIFA 2001? Is the game-play similiar to FIFA 2000 or there are some improvement to the game? I prefered opinions from you guys rather than read the reviews from the web cause it is you guys that are the true soccer fans and only you guys could give me a trustworthy answers. Thank-You

the interface and menu screens are better and the gameplay is easier to pick up than 2k
the pitch is better sized and the atmosphere and graphics are the best around at the moment
i find it closer in spirit to RTWC98
you can now play UEFA cup too

BUT only halfway through my first season (albeit with a good team - liverpool)i was already beating the CPU on WC level so we shall see how much longevity it has..

Loopychoon,

Thank-you very much for your information. I'm using Riva TnT, is it enough to support the high details in FIFA 2001?

Juve, YES! BUY THE GAME!

I have a Riva TNT Pentium 433 128MB RAM, and run the game very smooth on 1024x768.

2001 is no more demanding on the pc than 2000, so if that ran ok then this will do too, even though the graphics are better in 2001, they must have improved the engine.

And the game is miles better than the dissapointing 2000, it gets better the more you play it.

It's better than both FIFA99 and FIFA2000 but if you care more about having fun when you play instead of graphics you should get FIFA RTWC 98 instead. If you don't already have it?

Well, in my opinion FIFA2001 has incredible graphics (the best i've ever seen in football games) and is an improvement compared to the other FIFA series (except FIFA WC'98).

In spite of this good items there are many things to improve, like the playabiity. The passes are stupid. When you are with ball you can't pass it when you're running. when you press the 's' button the player just stops, which gives to the game a concept of non-football. The passes are automatic, you can't put direction and strengh to the passes. It means that computer manipulates the game, intercepting passes without a logical idea.
My sugestion is easy to create. So, they could programme the game to make the user do what he whants, control the direction and strengh of passes and shots like INTERNATIONAL SOCCER of ZX Spectrum.
Maybe it's an ironic comparison but this game was simply brilliant (except the graphics of course).

I haven't already play ISS Pro, but i've heard that it's better than FIFA only in playability which is the most important item.

So, i prupose to everybody give more ideas about improvements to made by the programmers to make a exceptional football game that we are waiting for long time ago.

SPORTING!!!

Bye
