I see many lists here which can't possible be done; they cost too much, take too long, too ambitious. You must consider that the FIFA series comes on a CD-ROM, which holds 650 MB, not on DVD. I expect the Dreamcast version to be a bit better, because it can hold 1GB, but not by much.
[Smarter AI]
I know this is possible, because the AI in FIFA 99 was just superb. My backs would automatically tackle an enemy player without me having to say a word.
[Better Animation]
Players should track the ball with their eyes like in FIFA 99. They SHOULDN'T get hit on the back of the head by the ball! The goalie needs to be fixed as well; the keeper would often let the ball pass him and then dive when it was just outside the goal. Easy catches should LOOK like easy catches.
[Fix the commentary]
Motson seemed completely inept in 2000. He would make the strangest calls, like "what a great strike", when I boot it from halfway down the field. Also, have the second commentator track season performance, something like: "That was his 15th goal of the season". Take out the announcer (ML) and give that job to either of the two in-game commentators. Also, let them know numbers higher than 5; I want to hear Motson say "eight nil". Hopefully, EA will open up their commentary formats so that we can add our own custom commentators, for example, Australian: "that's three bloody goals mate, what a top bloke".
[Give the ref a brain]
When a striker is tackled from behind by an enemy back inside the box, at the very least that should be a penalty. Nope, not so in 2000, or any other version for that matter. The ref does not know when to call it. Changing the ref strictness to full doesn't change anything but add pedantic offside rulings. If a person is not playing the ball, then they can be as offside as they bloody want.
[Better player skins]
This would be very hard, and isn't really a major factor. I know generic jerseys have to be used because there are just too many leagues to include accurate kits for all of them.
