View Full Version : NASL patch for FIFA 10
Pollard7545 29-03-2011, 01:49:AM I am going to release my patches for the history of the North American Soccer League. I had a lot of help from most people here but its late and they are about to close the library so i'm gonna give proper thanks later.
First off the NASL began in 1967 with two competing leagues:
The NPSL [National Professional Soccer League] 10 teams
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5L0HYE41
The USA [United Soccer Association] 12 teams
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ENFUDHW8
After the 1967 season the leagues merged to become the North American Soccer League
Here is 1968 NASL 17 teams
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=709KRU12
After the 1968 season most teams folded. Only 5 remained.
Here is 1969 NASL 5 teams

Later we will move into the 70's
Pollard7545 29-03-2011, 09:12:PM NASL 70's: The Pre-Pele Years: 1970-1974
Having survived the 1969 season, the NASL played a full season in 1970. The Baltimore Bays, however, folded, but two new teams came into the league by way of the American Soccer League. Those two teams were Rochester Lancers and Washington Darts.
Here is the patch for NASL 1970:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A5BUIAXO
The NASL expanded from six to eight teams in 1971 as New York Cosmos and Toronto Metros joined the league. On the other hand, Kansas City Spurs folded and were replaced by a team from Montreal, the Olympique, for the first time.
Here is the patch for NASL 1971:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Y8B3H1EL
The NASL remained at 8 teams in 1972. There was, however, one change as the Washington Darts was transfered to Miami where it was known as the Miami Gatos, gato being the Spanish word for cat.
Here is the patch for NASL 1972:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GCOTCQJR
The Philadelphia Atoms joined the NASL in 1973, increasing the membership to nine. A change in ownership in Atlanta saw the Chiefs become the Apollos while the Miami Gatos became the Miami Toros.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FA3OM5RS
The 1974 season brought major expansion to the NASL. The League increased from nine to 15 teams with the addition of Baltimore Comets, Boston Minutemen, Denver Dynamo, Los Angeles Aztecs, San Jose Earthquakes, Seattle Sounders, Vancouver Whitecaps and Washington Diplomats. However, along the way the NASL lost its teams in Atlanta and Montreal.

Next up...The Pele Years
Pollard7545 29-03-2011, 09:28:PM A lot of people were very helpful to me with the creation of these NASL & MSL season patches. lmfoust gave me all of the Menu/Banner/GUI files for both teams. A real trooper to do all of that work....Darxxx created the official NASL and MSL league balls. Excellent work my friend.....As far as the faces were concerned I tried to give as many faces to as many players as I could. I am not a face maker. I am just a railroad conductor and I did this work in my spare time so I borrowed faces from known players to give to mine. For that shortcut I apologize to any facemakers offended as it was not my intent to offened. Also Hero and GIGGIRIVA made me some classic NASL player faces as well and who can forget Regularcat's help and advice. I thank you all!!
I am now going to release everything I created and by the way the defensive and GK ratings need work but my time with the ratings were short so please feel free to modify.
Pollard7545 29-03-2011, 09:30:PM NASL 70's: The Pele Years: 1975-1977
Further expansion took place in 1975 as the number of NASL teams increased from 15 to 20. NASL soccer returned to Chicago for the first time since 1968 with the Sting and new teams were added with Hartford Bi-Centennials, Portland Timbers, San Antonio Thunder and Tampa Bay Rowdies.
Here is the patch for NASL 1975:

Membership remained at 20 clubs for 1976, but the Philadelphia Atoms were sold to a Mexican group and the Baltimore Comets moved to San Diego and was called the Jaws. The Denver Dynamo folded and were replaced by a significant new team in Minnesota called the Kicks. Also the Toronto Metros merged with elements of the local Toronto Croatia team and was known as the Metros-Croatia.
Here is the patch for NASL 1976:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JQMNYHI8
There was a slight decline in membership for the 1977 NASL season from 20 clubs to 18. Boston dropped out of the League as did Philadelphia, and a number of teams moved. Among them were San Antonio Thunder who crossed the Pacific Ocean to locate in Hawaii. The other moves saw San Diego Jaws become Las Vegas Quicksilvers and Miami Toros become Fort Lauderdale Strikers. And Hartford moved to New Haven and became Connecticut Bi-Centennials.

Pollard7545 29-03-2011, 09:33:PM NASL 70's: The highs: 1978-1980
A total of 24 teams made up the NASL in 1978, an increase of six from 1977. newcomers included Colorado Caribous, Detroit Express, Houston Hurricane, Memphis Rogues, New England Tea Men and Philadelphia Fury. However, once again a number of teams fell by the wayside. Connecticut Bi-Centennials became Oakland Stompers, Team Hawaii became Tulsa Roughnecks, Las Vegas Quicksilvers became San Diego Sockers and, sadly, the St. Louis Stars who had been a member of the league from the start became California Surf.
Here is the patch for NASL 1978:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FHCT2UAR
While the number of teams making up the NASL in 1979 remained at 24 there were two franchise shifts. The Colorado Caribous moved to Atlanta and adopted the old name of the Atlanta Chiefs, while the Oakland Stompers moved to Canada to become the Edmonton Drillers. Ownership of the Toronto team changed hands and with it the name changed from Toronto Metros-Croatia to Blizzard.
Here is the patch for NASL 1979:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DGSLL9KM
In 1980 the number of teams making up the NASL remained at 24 for the third year in a row and this time there were no franchise moves.

Pollard7545 29-03-2011, 09:38:PM NASL 80's The decline: 1981-1984
The year 1981 marked the start of the decline of the NASL, membership dropping from 24 to 21 teams, as Houston, Washington and Rochester folded. The New England franchise moved to Jacksonville, Florida, Detroit moved to Washington and took the Diplomats name, Memphis moved to Canada and became the Calgary Boomers and Philadelphia moved to Canada as well and became the Montreal Manic, bringing the number of Canadian teams in the League to an all-time high of five.
Here is the patch for NASL 1981:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ECLIF4PI
The NASL was reduced to 14 teams for the 1982 season as Atlanta, Calgary, California, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Washington and Dallas Tornado, members since the League began, dropped out.
Here is the patch for NASL 1982:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8BGVPISX
The Edmonton Drillers, Jacksonville Tea Men and Portland Timbers were all missing when the 1983 NASL season began, but the addition of Team America brought the League membership to 12, a drop of two. The only other change was in San Jose were the Earthquakes became known as Golden Bay Earthquakes.
Here is the patch for NASL 1983:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VXY8E1SM
This was to be the last hurrah for the NASL as membership dropped from 12 teams to nine with the demise of Team America, Montreal Manic and Seattle Sounders. The Fort Lauderdale Strikers moved to Minnesota and kept the Strikers name. After the season, Chicago Sting, Minnesota Strikers, New York Cosmos and San Diego Sockers were admitted into the Major Soccer League and the NASL faded into history.

Pollard7545 29-03-2011, 09:43:PM The Rise of the MSL: 1981-84
The MSL would expand again for the MSL's fourth season to 13 teams as New Jersey Rockets would give the New York Arrows a natural rival, the Pittsburgh Spirit would be reinstated, however San Francisco Fog would move and become Kansas City Comets and Hartford Hellions would move and become Memphis Americans and Chicago Horizons would fold.

Entering the sixth season the NASL 3, Chicago Sting, Golden Bay Earthquakes and San Diego Sockers, resigned their memberships in the MSL. League membership went down to 12 teams.
Here is the patch for MSL 1983-84:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UX7JCGW0
When the NASL folded after the 1984 season, the MSL prospered. The Chicago Sting and San Diego Sockers were welcomed back to the League and they would bring Minnesota Strikers and New York Cosmos with them, the New Jersey Rockets franchise was brought from the League and become Dallas Sidekicks, however the League would lose original six member New York Arrows and Buffalo Stallions and Memphis Americans would relocate to Las Vegas and retain the Americans nickname. It was a total failure and it also folded before the season was over. Also Pittsburgh Spirit finally folded its tent before the season but the League pressed on with 12 teams before the Express folded.

Pollard7545 29-03-2011, 09:47:PM MSL 80's: Decline and Death: 1988-1992
The big crash happened after the 10th season. Chicago Sting, Minnesota Strikers, St. Louis Steamers and sadly original six member Cleveland Force would fold and the League almost went out of business, however seven teams would remain and the MSL would survive another season.
Here is the patch for MSL 1988-89:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RYVJ1KD2
Season 12 in the MSL would bring expansion back to the League as new teams would replace old cities, Cleveland Crunch and St. Louis Storm, however, Los Angeles Lazers would fold and the league had eight teams left.
Here is the patch for MSL 1989-90:

Here is the patch for MSL 1990-91:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=P7Y8ZMJC
The League knew it was in trouble when the Kansas City Comets folded after the 1990 season. The other teams would hang in there and play the season again with seven teams, however after the season Cleveland Crunch and Wichita Wings accepted membership in the rival NPSL and Dallas Sidekicks and San Diego Sockers would move a year later to the new CISL and the MSL was history.

I really don't know. I would imagine you would have to import to creation master fifa 11, then export as patch, then import to creation master 12, but probably the kit template is different .
