When pressing the shoot-button, a rectangle, representing the goal should appear in the upper left corner. The size should correspond to the distance to the goal (big when 5 meters away, small when 30 meters away).
In the rectangle should be a moving cross-hair, which can be moved by you (however not presicely - depending on the skill of the player you use) to target your shot. The longer you hold the button, the hard the shot and the faster the crosshair moves/reacts.
This means that when shooting from 10 meters placing the crosshair in the retangle should be fairly easy, getting it exactly where you want it a good bit harder. For 30 meter shots of course this should be really hard.
I would love this system since you could really shoot where you want and would need some skill to do so. You need to get the timing before hammering shots from outside the box, and finally shots would go wide.
With this difficult shooting system, there would be no need anymore for supergoalies, it would be 50% goalie skill, 50% shooter skill. You could also beat the goalie by shooting very weak into the opposite direction he is running.
What do you think?
