Anyaway you must remember that I'm not some kinda internet company (like soccergaming or gamespot) so I wasn't thinking of prizes.

I like the sound of the "Bloke who monitors the competition" job, sounds kinda cool and I could certainly do that.

As for your site, well it looks OK, not brilliant (no offence http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif) but it looks good. You have some scrolling text at the top saying something like "Fred has beaten Joe on world class skill level" but surely skill level won't matter because its human v human, I suppose the keeper may be more easy to beat, given a lower skill level.

And one last thing, how will the winners be decided (set amount of games or win percentage?) and will there be promotion and relegation between the three league?

One question, how do you propose the matches are made, direct IP or through EA's multiplayer matchup system?

I don't whether the IP is better than EA multiplayer...so we'll have to wait for that.

Tomorrow I will propose all the 'jobs' available and I'll pick some people who seem committed and wan't to help with the ladder competition.
Ok I made a little summary of the league.

FIFA 2001 LADDER COMPETITION

This is the way I thought of it:

- 60 players aloud to compete in the competition from around the world
- 3 groups: Amateur
Professional
World Class

- Players can pick any club team from around the world
- Players are not aloud to pick more than one team
- Players must be 13 or older
- Players must be able to play one match every two weeks
- 5 days are assigned to play eachother
- ICQ is a must (you can download it from www.icq.com (http://www.icq.com) )
- Racism will not be tolerated
- If found guilty for breaking minor rules it will result in a warning e-mail
If found guilty of breaking major rules it will result in exclusion of FLC

- Competition starts mid January (?)
- Competition ends August (?)
- Competition ends is a Grand Final


COMPETITION STRUCTURE:

AMATEUR:

Group A1

10 Players -> 5 Players -> 2 Players -> 1 Player


Group B1

10 players -> 5 players -> 2 players -> 1 player.

Player 1 from group A1 plays in grand final against player 1 from group B1

Same for professional level and world class

Did someone said something about relegation and promotion between the 3 groups at the end of tournament?
I think it woul be a good idea!!
Maybe it would be good to do 4 groups of 5 teams by division (amateur, professional and world class) and have a semifinal and a final, and we play less games between us, but can have 2 or 3 tournaments by the year, and can have some relegations and promotions between the divisions!!

Ok ok guys I have made alist with the things(or help) that I would need to create this ladder competition.I don't want it to be my own competition so that would be great if you can help so that it'll become a comepetition in which everyone had a say

I need:

- 5 people who come up(listen to) other ideas.

- 2 or 3 people to update the web site.

- a web site designer(can be more than one)

- someone who has the skill and is willing to make a cool web site for the competition

- Someone who will monitor the competition(ie fair play,make sure rules are followed,no cheating etc.)

- one or two people who can help(technically) if something goes wrong.(ie the game won't run and that means I can't play)

- Someone who can translate into Spanish italian french(??)

hi everybody,i ve some ideas that may help u: 1-make only 2 levels (professional-world class)as few people play in amateur mode. 2-if u agree for the previous idea then u ve to increase the number of groups,to make four groups in each level (4 groups for professional level & other 4 groups for world class level). 3-all the teams in each group play against each other one time(if there is a large no. of players in each group)or two times(if there is a small no of players in each group). 4-the winner in groupA plays with the winner in groupB (*) & the winner in groupC plays with the winner in groupD ($) and these for both professional & world class. 5-the winner from (*) plays with the winner of ($).then we have 2 final matches,1 for professionals & the other for world class. 6-the competition ends with a grand final between the winner in professional level & the winner in world class level. 7-the winner is the best player in fifa2001. these r some of my ideas that may improve the competition & attract many people to play in it but of course u r free to make what u want Philler. Philler, don't know how you are going on with website design....if you are struggling I have a little experience in doing this for my works local intranet site......so if you want it full of Flash etc I'm not your man....maybe updates would be more suited....I will get ICQ sorted in next couple of days and ask around some friends to see if they can also help.

After the 58 league games the top 8 teams in the two groups go in to the playoffs. With the final game being the GRAND-FINAL between the winner of the "Group A" league and playoffs v the winner of the "Group B" league and playoffs.

I don't know how many grand-finals there would be per year, but I'm sure it would be possible to have more than 1.

Ok here is my next idea on how to run the matches played.

Whenever two players play eachother and one wins then we would probably have to trust the players to give us the right scores and the looser would have to report himself.
Well not everybody is that honest(unfortunately) so I have decide that each player HAS to take a screenshot at the end of the match.By that I mean that not just the one that won the match should make one but also the looser that means that we would have 100% proof that there was no cheating going on.It would also mean clearer stats.
If a player doesn't make screenshot and sends it in the that would result in a deduction of 2 points.

Then gapser000 and I have decided to make a game 20 mins(each half) is that too long or is it ok?

Hey GALATASARAY nothing is official yet, Phil will post who will finally will help with what things, so maybe you and the brother of T17 will do the page, and maybe T17 do another thing and stuff like that, just don't discard yourself!!!
And Phil we will be waiting for you to post what's going to be done!!!
This is going to be a very cool league, yeah hard to do, but at the finish cool!!!

I think that I can confirm it that Galatasaray will make the web page and team 17's brother will make the design.
I will send a list with the things that we would need to t17 so he can pass it on to his brother.

The main thing is that the site is up asap.

BTW: what do you all think if we could make the league like the champions league but then we put 10 teams in each group.
That means that we have a tight schedule(every saturday or so) a match.
That is better to organize rather than playing on and off.

but i don't want the loosers(who did not qualify) would not compete, they will still compete but in a lower league turnament.

we r only talking but no work and time is going on & until now we don't know the organisation of the competition ,we also had alot of matches to be played & also making the web site will consume a long time.


we ve to decide the organisation soon.

i think everyone has to give his ideas & all of us should vote for the best idea to be done.

we ve to limit the time for giving the ideas up to 5 days and other 5 days for voting.

(=world fifa online league)
If you agree then make it that name!
make a cool logo that is important!
Oh and if you have some xtra time you could make a cool intro movie for the web site or so.....

My brother has come up with a cool logo for the site (using W.O.F.L not W.F.O.L).
The logo is a waffle with wofl.? over the top of it and world online fifa league writen around it - it looks VERY good but has nothing to do with fifa though.
