Hey guys

I have a question which has always bugged me but finally annoyed me last night as to why it happens.

Why are some players/staff in the actual database e.g editior but when you come to start a game they arnt in the game even with 'attribute masking ticked off'

for example i wanted to find Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but in the game he didnt exist, yet when i went into the editior he was there as manager of Molde.

That has to do with database size. When you load the database in the editor, you load the entire thing. When you load the database in the game, you only load a part of it. How big that part is, is dependant of the database size and the leagues you selected. I guess if you'd select the Norwegian league, you will find Solksjaer there.

You can also choose to specifically load players from certain regions/countries/leagues etc too. Attribute masking only hides attributes of players (and in 12 positions). Not players themselves

i tried loading the different leagues but it didnt work. and it was already on large database. how do you load certain individuals?

Wow, so you loaded the Norwegian league and it didn't work?

There is absolutely no way that's possible.

No sorry my mistake, i had picked 'view only' for the Norwegian league instead of playable. now i can see it. cheers

Ahhh yes, that's a stupid thing by SI. View Only is totally pointless and it frustrated me a few years ago before I just accepted it.

I often use View Only, because I like up to date tournament results. I make sure there is one league from every continent on view only (if there isn't one selected), do that all of the champions leagues are in the game. Also means international games stay better for longer.
But then I also make sure all current international players are in the DB, all players from top divisions, then I choose some countries I particularly want to keep all the players of (Australia etc). I'd rather the game go a little show and have a fully accurate database :)

In FM11 can you give certain countries/leagues/continents players to be included in-game or do you need to use an edt file. I can't remember.

You can select players by nation, region, or continent to be included.
