Seems like no-one in this forum has the 411 on crests... [can't believe that, more likely no one wants to share [kinda pathetic]].

I've seen so many requests for help with crests and yet no definitive answers. ;)

Pity, cause I know I'm not the only potential kit builder asking these questions:

What is the criteria for crests within .fsh? 256 or 128 palette? Transparency 'None' or 'Source File' in 'Save As' dialogue box?

There must be some very specific guidlines to this dilema, as I've tried too many variations, with no luck.

All tutorials on this site so far appear to have skirted way-around this issue. Too bad. :(

Public retraction/apology:

I was a bit too pationate in this post as I'd spent many an hour trying to make this happen. Thanks to 2K for keeping me going:

"Wierdest stuff [and I don't yet quite know how it happened] but all of a sudden I now have transparent crests in the game.

I'll try and trace my steps back, but honestly, I must have tried every possible variation to format before and when I read the readme, was convinced there was no solution w/this version [very buggy in other areas too,not to sound ungratefull]. I've got a hunch it was a combination of first using a transparent gif in the crst.fsh w/transparency in source checked, then updating palette within the kit.fsh.

I've uploaded the patch I was working on for Brighton & Hove Albion [3rd Div Champions]. I know not many will want, but hey, that's my home town".

After impoting the crest using SONIQUE or GFXPAK or EAGRAPH,

go to ea graph
open the jersey
click crst once til you see the crest
go to color palette
use dropper and click on the background
make the opaqueness/transparency zero
save palette <- important
finish, don't save the jersey

I typing this thru my memory so i hope it's the right procedere. Good luck.
