View Full Version : Best free kick taker?
DJLethal 08-08-2001, 04:31:PM Who is the best free kick taker in the world? In my opinion it's Mihajlovic. Oh and b4 I forget; MIHAJLOVIC HAS A 1 FOR SHOOTING IN THE GAME!!!?? The people from EA probably never saw him play and gave him a 1 for shooting cause he's a defender

J@MES 08-08-2001, 05:08:PM beckham, or ian harte
cmc2pointzero 08-08-2001, 05:27:PM yeh
ian harte kicked some unbeeelieeevable goals last year from set pieces.
my other nomination would be rivaldo. did anyone see the AC Milan vs. Barca in last years first group stage of champions league.
it was 3-3 and rivaldo kicked two of the best free kicks ive seen in a while, one of them was that one that went under the wall.
maldini or someone got a free kick in too in that game i think. i cant remember who etc, it was a while back.
what is it with defenders kicking unreal freekick goals?? roberto carlos, ian harte, mihajlovic. dont they have anything better to do at training?
peace
:D :D :D
Luc Nilis 08-08-2001, 05:37:PM Luc Nilis!! (well he used to have)
1 MIHAJLOVIC (Lazio)
2 BECKHAM (Man u)
3 SCHOLL (Bayern Munchen)
4 ROBERTO CARLOS (Real Madrid
5 JORGE BOHME (Schalke 04)
For the rest Rivaldo and Zidane also got a very good free-kick, but they're all-rounders so...
Mike 'Air' 08-08-2001, 05:43:PM Becks. Though for sheer power, it's Roberto Carlos.
Mike.
faneidde 08-08-2001, 05:51:PM Although I haven't seen him take a free kick since the '98 cup, at the time, Roberto Carlos was the best in the world. I don't know if he still is, but at the time he was unbelievable. Another great free kick taker is Marco Etchevery. He is easily the best in the MLS.
CARLOS IS ONE OF THE BEST BUT U CANT RULE OUT
GARY MACALLISTER WOT A SEASON HE HAD WITH FREEKICKS
LIVERPOOL TO BEAT HAKA :p
Nimreitz 08-08-2001, 09:06:PM Roberto Carlos misses 20 times more than he scores, and he always shoots. David Beckham is the best.
Help? 08-08-2001, 10:29:PM 1)Beckham
2)Rivaldo
3)Zidane
4)Roberto
5)Veron
FocuZzz 09-08-2001, 06:21:AM Beckham has a nice foot, very accurate shooting... Roberto Carlos with his power shoot also nice, Zidane not bad too accurate and power... Mihajlovich defentlly power.. i saw once he even killed goalkeeper(not killed but hert a lot), Ian Harte, he scores a lot from free kicks... Figo not bad too... so but my favorite is still Rivaldo.. he scores beutifull ones.. he is master of beuty...
Batistuta 09-08-2001, 07:29:AM In terms of curling the ball probably gotta be Becks or Mihajlovic. Rivaldo is competitive here too but i think that Becks and Miha are just a bit better than him.
For shot power, Roberto Carlos definitely has it (but I don't think he is too accurate). Mihajlovic has a whole lot more accuracy that Roberto C if u ask me (don't shoot me for sayin that). But I'll tell you this, when Roberto C scores one, you can surely bet it's damn good.
Veron is probably overrated in free kicks (don't shoot me again for sayin that). I've seen him miss a whole lot. But again, when he does score, he's up there with the best.
In my opinion, one of the most under-rated free kick takers is none other than Batigol. I don't think he curls the ball as much as Becks or Mihajlovic (but he can curl it). However he has a whole lot of shot power (up there with Roberto Carlos...if not better) and he does get it on target a whole lot of times. I remember in his last match for Fiorentina he scored a beauty from WAY out against Venezia (I think)...he scored a hattrick in that match btw.
Oh yeah...in the Milan versus Barca match, Albertini scored Milan's FK. He also scored a beauty of a long shot if anyone remembers.
mikasalo32 09-08-2001, 02:07:PM Has to be Roberto Carlos, followed closely by Beckham and Mijhalovic(think I spelt it wrong).
Silencer 09-08-2001, 07:28:PM Beckham for sure, he's a specialist pur sang.
The Don't 09-08-2001, 08:35:PM I'll have to go with Gary McAllister.
How many consecutive goals did he score last season just with free kicks again??
It was alot though!!
Who saw the one against Everton?
FLEW IN
