Defending champion Manchester United was eliminated from the Champions Cup on Wednesday, losing 3-2 at home to Real Madrid and leaving three Spanish clubs in the semifinals.

Real Madrid, a seven-time champion, joins Barcelona, Valencia and Bayern Munich of Germany. This is the first time three teams from one country are in the final four.

Raul Gonzalez had two second-half goals for Real after United's Roy Keane had an own-goal in the 20th minute. David Beckham scored for the English in the 64th minute and Paul Scholes added a penalty kick with four minutes left.
