View Full Version : Real Madrid Are Through, But Even Better, Man Utd Are Out!!!
simonius_13 20-04-2000, 12:08:AM Real Madrid are through to the semi-finals, after a 3-2 win at Old Trafford.(Aggr. 3-2)
It is brilliant that such a great team can make it through to the semi-finals, and a great day for Spanish Soccer! It's awful that Chelsea didn't make it, though!
Hopefully we'll see Barca against Bayern, and Real against Valencia. Real would be almost guaranteed a place in the final. Calling the Bayern-Barca match would be difficult.
GO REAL MADRID!!!
Can you hear ManU sing? No-o no-o.......

Neutral 20-04-2000, 03:30:AM Nope, and I can't hear them chanting Keane-o, Keane-o, Keane-o either....
What no defensive comments from the ManU support? Must be stunned into silence eh? Heh heh heh....

Turok 20-04-2000, 10:56:AM I am 100% with Barcelona and i hate real madrid
but when it comes real vs. manU
i am 100% real
hahaha
ManU fans, so what's the excuse now?
Your idol, Keane, score a beautiful own goal
hahahahahahahaha
Neutral 20-04-2000, 01:12:PM Mark;
I don't think it's Man U fan's silence, they've all gone out to buy Real Madrid jersey's and they'll be back;
but with different names...

Woody_007 21-04-2000, 04:50:AM Hey Turok, I am one hundred percent Catalan, and yesterday I was cheering for ManU ... what gives?? Real does not deserve to win a game, and if they have the guts to show up for the final, watch Barca freakin squash them like the bums they are.
Neutral ..... that was mean .... BUT VERY FUNNY! People do not hate ManU cause they are jealous (I am a Barca fan, we are in the semi's, ManU is not .... what's to be jealous about???), people hate ManU because most of their fans are loud mouth, bragging pricks. Much like Americans .... well .... all except Jennifer Lopez.
Neutral 21-04-2000, 04:53:AM Woody - hehe, that's exactly what I was implying - people generally dislike them because of their loud opinions not because we're jealous.
Kewell the Jewell 21-04-2000, 06:37:AM Neutral now im not sticking up for Man U supporters and i agree with you when about 80% of them on this forum are clueless but your posts are making you sound like you want them to answer with something stupid.....like when u write <cue backlash>
Neutral 21-04-2000, 06:54:AM Actually, it's not that I want them to answer with something stupid, its that I KNOW more than half of the time it'll be something stupid - they'll attack me, make fun of me, or go off on some stupid tangent;
Neutral: "You lost to Real - so how can you call youselves the best team in the world?"
Man U Fan: "Yeah, well Owen and Liverpool suck!"
? In fact, for a majority of them " [insert club or player name] suck(s) - Man U rule!" is the strongest argument they can come up with, not all but most...
You'd think most intelligent Man U fans would see that Cole can't hit the side of a barn unless Beckham banks the ball in off his foot, and they'd be clammoring for a REAL striker - but no, they're blinded by the media and suggest Cole should play for England...
Similarly, you'd think they'd be concerned that their team has let in the most goals of any team in the EPL top 6 - sure they're within a whisper of winning, but that shaky defense doesn't bode well for the future - but no, they'll just say it's because I'm jealous.....
actually, that's what they all think, they think people hate them because they're jealous....

Kewell the Jewell 21-04-2000, 07:48:AM Neutral,
me and Dbubbs had a argument with Cantona and Becks about that for ages and it still didnt get through to them so hope you have better luck!
juvegoose 21-04-2000, 12:40:PM hehehe....REAL striker...good call Neutral
Sella 21-04-2000, 09:41:PM Well, I wasn't planning to answer your childish comments, but since noone else has...
Manchester United may have lost, but you gotta admit they were MUCH better. Real got to a freaking 2 shots on goal!!! 'xcept for Roberto Carlos, United humiliated Real! Giggs' and BECKHAM's (beckham, for crying out loud) dribbling were like around posts, and only Casillas saved Madrid from a thrashing by the devils.
Keane - Keane had an awful game, but that just goes to prove you what I've been saying for a while. Keane is Manchester's heart and soul, he pulls the team almost by himself, and when he's bad, the team sucks. All season long he has been the only one consistently excellent in ECC - except vs Fiorentina, and remember what happened?
How many goals does Keano have in ECC alone by now? 6? 7? 8? Damn, that's a lot. And all from his DEFENSIVE role.
One wrong touch will not stop us Keano and United fans from forever singing "Keano". And by the way, I don't know if any of you were even at the game, but the crowd never stopped cheering. And never will.
-Oh, and one last note. This whole, ****ing, messed up European season is because we ain't got a decent keeper, not since Great Schmeichel left. He was, evidently, the difference between a treble and....this..
-And one last, LAST note: Don't forget that handling-off-line to Cole's header. That should have been a red (where's the linesman!?) and a penalty, which would have changed the whole picture.
KEANO!
Kewell the Jewell 22-04-2000, 08:03:AM UMMM......SELLA!
You can talk about your shots on goal and watever else but that is what soccer is about...taking your chances!!!!!
and the difference this season has been your keeper????
ALRIGHT...WHO WAS THE PLAYER WHO KEPT YOU IN THE GAME AGAINST REAL AT MADRID????????????
Keane?
Giggs?
Beckham?
NO NO and NO!
well what do you know it was your keeper mark bosnich!!!!!
you might wanna take a look at your defence for some problems
Sella 23-04-2000, 01:51:AM Well, Kewell, at least you're not flaming me, eh? http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif
Yes, definitely, Bosnich was the one who kept them in pace in Madrid. Bosnich, as I've said before, is an INCREDIBLE keeper (IMHO, anyway). But, still, there is quite a difference between old Marky and Schmeichel, whom some think is still the best in the whole wide world...
And not only in keeping. Schmeichel was one of United's leaders. He was, of course, captain after Keane, and some say he was even more influential on Morale than ole' Roy. His yells on the defence were part (well, he says so anyway http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif ) of his coordinating his defence. This is the keeper's most important trait; leading and guiding the defenders. You'll notice that Bosnich rarely even talks during Matches; perhaps some of you know how much a defender needs that.
But anyway, I'm not referring to that single game. I'm talking about the entire season.
Schmeichel, again, 'cept for his skill, was also a leader.
You want a single incident? Remember Taibi's exploits...
And by the way, everyone knows United's defence sucks, and I've always said so. Although Johnsen IS missing, I think United should by some big-shot for help...
Although John Curtis is a big promise, so....
