To curve the ball just push a direction after you have kicked it. I have done you a little diagram to help :)

Dip Ball/Add speed

You can score some amazing free kicks with Beckham if you can dip the ball and add some left or right curl.

if you are playing with a horizontal view (wide) which way do you hold the d pad to curl left and right? If my player is facing to the right of the monitor and I have a free kick, do I press the d pad up for left curl, down for right curl, left for height and right for dip?

no thats not right
it's always the same as said b4 - doesnt matter which way ur facing .. cos it goes to free kick view which is the same regardless.
Was a good point about a futbol game making use of the free kick well :D

No,

up is always dip,

down is always add height,

left = left

right = right

Bear in mind that the ball isn't going to curl ridiculous amounts.

Also you can add curl to the ball at any point. So if I took a long range free kick and I wanted to curl it over the initial wall and then dip in under the cross bar. I would power the shoot then hold down to add height. When it had cleared the wall I would then press and hold up to dip the ball in the goal. Anytime the ball is in the air before another player touches it you can still influence it.
