The Match Engine is what you play with in STARS 2001, but while the graphics aren't as flash as Fifa the gameplay when you control a team is actually really good! When you control the corners you can score quite often although one bug with this game is that if the ball is rolling to the goalie when a shot is rebounded off a defender, he just stands there allowing you to sometimes just slide the ball in!

One thing for the FM 2002 engine they can definitely improve on is that just because you have a striker as your emergency goalie shouldn't mean he'll roll on the ground when a 50 yard shot is slowly rolling towards him!

Hi nz, Yes one should be able to control corner balls, as well as throw-ins and free kicks. Also, you should be able to select who kicks/throws the ball. That goes also for penalty shots. Selection of the five penalty shooters should be made when nessecary, not before match.

Another thing that I would like in the game is curved balls. Especially on corners and free kicks.

I would also like to see more variations on headers. Now, the only offensive heading is a guy that recklessly throws himself through the air and hits the ball. More normal would be two guys, one from each team, juming pretty straight upwards fighting to get aHead of the other.
