Well, here's my starting 11. Kev, however, will pick certain players just because he's in love with them (or something).

GK - N Martyn - He's a better keeper than Seaman. Observe his performance vs Ukraine, and compare to Seamen's error vs Brazil.

RB - G Neville - Good defender

CB - T Adams - He's still the best England defender

CB - M Keown - After campbell's display vs Malta I don't think he'll start. Therefore Keown is more secure, and has experiance with Adams at Arsenal.

LB - P Neville - Just about the only player who can fill that role on the left.

RM - D Beckham - 'Nuf Said

CM - P Scholes - On form. Will be star player for England.

CM - D Wise -Playing best football of his career at Chelsea

LM - N Barmby - Better than Macca at international level, and shone against Malta and Ukraine. Could be a revelation

CF - M Owen - Fast, and the scares the ****e out of defences. Looked brilliant against Brazil.

CF - E Heskey - Shearer's been crap recently, while Heskey was promising against Ukraine and Malta. Has a club partnership with Owen too.

Go on then, disagree with me!

"LM - N Barmby - Better than Macca at international level, and shone against Malta and Ukraine. Could be a revelation"

I've said this time and time again, Macca is a RIGHT WINGER, not a left winger, imagine how bloody useless Beckham would be if he played on the left - imagine him having to pull the ball back to his right foot every time he was to make a cross.

Since the right wing role is taken, Macca should be used as a central midfielder or as an attacking midfielder behind the front two.

As for Barmby being better than Macca at International level - just remember the last time Macca actually got to play more than two straight games for England in his PROPER position - yeah, that was Euro 96 and he got voted to the all tournament team - pull out the videos and see how amazing he was, or just look at this years Champions League Final...

I'm sick and tired of the English media pissing on Macca every time he plays bad on the left, if he's good enough for the European Champions then he's more than good enough for England.

But now that I'm done ranting, I do agree that Barmby should be on the left. Left Back should be Barry, Phil Neville is useless - just remember, this is the guy that is SECOND CHOICE BEHIND Mikael Silvestre....now that's bad...and his brother is bloody shaky too....of course if Kevin 'Pot Smoker' Keegan had of put Rio Ferdinand or Keiron Dyer in the squad then I'd say either would be a good choice (Dyer's had a better season, Rio's form has dropped this year but he's still better than Gary 'I love to play against South American sides' Neville.

I'd still play Shearer and Owen though....here's hoping Big Al goes out with a bang.

I agree in everything with schumacher but philips should partner owen up front and maybe barry should come on in the 2nd half for barmby!!
hope beckham smacks in a few goo free-kicks.
I hate it,it is always shearer and .....
shearer is always the main man(stupid http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/frown.gif )

Neutral - I forgot about Barry. I saw him play a game for Villa earlier this year, and he made a few errors. I know P. Neville doesn't get that many games for his club, but it's either his England experiance, or that Barry's unexperiance. Hard choice.

PhilWalsh - I don't like Philips. I think he is good for club, but he was useless vs Malta - just look at that open goal that he missed. Another point about Shearer - he's the only striker to have played all three games, yet the only one of two not to have scored. Hmmm.

Neutral, I reek at the comment about being good enough to play for the champs which makes you good enough to play for England. Cole???
Anyway, I agree wholeheartedly. The fact is that MC SHOULD BE PLAYING, BUT NOT AT THE LEFT MIDFIELD. Keegan doesn't want to see it as well as the lot of you but he ought to replace Scholes. His role at Madrid is to advance the ball from deep, nothing special, just advance the ball at tempo and use the link striker as support. That's what England needs. I recommend playing Mc wherever he wants to. I recently saw the scoring record of the English players and it puts to the lie this talk about Cole not performing when he has the chance, and more importantly it establishes that the others have done no better. Cole, and I hope this is wrong, has played five times for England in five years. Please correct me, because if that is what people have been using to make a case against this guy then these people are shameless. The record of Owen and Fowler, and Beckham, and Ince, and Wise are just not good enough. Don't say the latterly mentioned are midfielders, that doesn't fly. They simply do not score enough goals and thats why they'll be crucified. Of course that argument means they have to play Scholes if they need a score. I guess that's why it's difficult to select a team.

Phil Neville is pure crap, so is his brother. The strikers should be owen and phillips, shearer doesnt cut it anymore. Scholes is better than Macca, Macca should start from the bench cuz england needs a defensive midfielder like wise in there. Not sure about Martyn or Seaman at goal, Seaman has more international experience and was great at euro 96 but martyn has been in much better form lately. Probably go with Martyn in first game and see what happens, if he sucks bring back Seaman.

I agree that Emile Heskey, shouls play some part in Euro 2000, but I don't think he has been given enough time to proove waht he can do, Being a leicester fan I've seen him play week after week and he can rip the best defences apart
