Just wanted to tell you guys just bought the game and dont understand.......I mean its great ...........Fantastic.............This game is an improvement which shows us what Ea can really do ...........Why are they screwing around with Fifa they have to answer this.

Yeah I have it too, a really good game. The gameplay is real good, there are heaps of stadiums and the graphics are good (ran a bit slow with full graphics on, on my comp).

However I got bored quickly, the appeal of Franchise was crap, too Americanish, no offence, just plain boring for me, already deleted the game.

Can you tell me more about the Franchise mode as I was just getting ready to start playing the mode.I think the coaches change teams ýs that true and do players move to other teams???
I have the manual but get bored very fast with those type of things.

The PS2 version is probably the best american football game available (I'm still waiting to play NFL2k2 for the PS2 though), the AI on both sides of the ball is incredible - the AI in the secondary is excellent.

Of course, if you don't like 'Americanish' football, then there's no point playing an American football game. ;)

Madden kicks ass.

But playing it on the All-Madden difficulty pisses me off.:mad: :D

I've only got the demo and I don't intend to buy the game. Only because I have no idea on how American Football works and I don't follow it!

However, I reckon that the level of detail is just amazing. Probably because I have NEVER tried a Madden game in my life before 2002, but the cut-scenes are just... 'Wow!'

If only they did it with FIFA...

You think Madden 2002 or even Fifa 2001 was bad, then try NHL 2002, its soooooo stupid, i honestly though NHL 2001 was the best sports game i had played on any platform, but now, NHL 2002 has just turned me off, lucky i didn;t buy it, the demo was enough to turn me off.

I heard madden sucks in gameplay. Im gonna get nhl2002 is it better than 2001? Is the gameplay better ? Is it worth gettin ?

Depends if you want action or a slightly non-comical and less dramatic version. If you want the non-comical and less dramatic version, plus it will be cheaper go for NHL 2001.

But if you want an action packed, less of a simluation, better graphics, yet too comical to be serious version at full price go for NHL 2002.

If you just like big hits and action and haven't played 2001, go for 2002.

However if you have 2001, it isn;t justifyed getting 2002.

The game is great played a few games.Its reall good.

I think i will enjoy my Nhl2001 and buy the new one when the prices drop hehe. NHL 2001 rocks. I havnt read too many good things about NHL 2002. I know that Ea havnt changed gameplay as much just enhanced the game a little. Its better to stay with what you have :)

The only notable additions to NHL 2002 are:

The Bad
- NHL Cards (waste of time)
- Breakaway cam (cant see anything on that view)
- In-game highlights (annoying)
- Game story (what is this? its crap whatever it is)
- New commentator (he's dumb, more of a comedian than a commentator

The Good
- New crowd 3D shots (may slow down some comps)
- New AI, cant do same play to many times (harder than before)
- New dump passes, a good idea, but used way to much, unrealistic in the end.

Overall
Nhl 2002- 70% if you have played NHL 2001, and 78% if you haven't played 2001.
Nhl 2001- 92% all round.

I appreciate the help. I heard about the breakaway and card additions. I have also heard the Internet play owns in this one. That alone makes it worth buying. Im getting it no matter what.

Personaly I thought that NHL 2002 is great. For me it was better than 2001 I have rented it for 5 days and played it full time I have finished a whole season well at least a season of 29 games and my record was 6-12-11-1

I just want to point out that you can switch off all of those things (and ignore the NHL cards).

But I agree, there isn't much of a change from 2001 to justify buying NHL 2002 if you already have last year's version.

Well if you had ever watched real hockey, and I do very often on cable and i even saw a game in real life, 2002 is soooo NOT like real hockey, more of a carnival. 2001 aint the most accurate simulation but it kicks 2002's arse.

To put it into context:

NHL 2002= Fifa 2001
NHL 2001= ISS

Well then guys im sticking with 2001. Im gonna get 2002 at a later date. I want to go out and buy games i still have to get. I dont wanna name them owise u all will say " WHAT YOU HAVNT PLAYED THAT YET" :P

You can download a great demo version of NHL 2002 at http://nhl2002.ea.com. It has theme music, commentary, 15-minute game, etc.

Here's a little note about Madden 2002:

Great game, but I was 18-0 and in the Super Bowl ready to cream the Jaguars when it crashes and says I lost 37-21!!

even though i played NHL 2001, I think 2002 is way better - the graphics are awesome, and the gameplay has been improved a lot as well!!
