Regarding the last European championship..

It was really exciting, 'specially the final four. Too bad the final wasn't so interesting, with Pan- having virtually secured the win throughout the second half.

Maccabi Tel-Aviv have had a great season, and IMHO, if they had a normal league (like Pana-), they could easily reach the final four every year. They even led the final by 7 at a time.

Aito (? Barca's coach) sucks. Look at his players, he should have beaten Maccabi, in the semis.

I wonder...is perhaps PAF Bologna better than Panathinaikos? I think they could beat them...They've already proved they are terrific this year, vs Maccabi in Yad-Eliyahu.

Yup, I agree with Grobar_Otago we are second best after the US, we have won 2 European Championships, World Championship, and a silver at the Olympics, all in the past 6 years. I would mention the third place in the last Euro Champs but for us everything but first place is a dissapiontment.

Secondly WE WILL beat the Dream Team. Last time we played them at the Olympics we were up at the end of the half, they are beatable, very simple they have all the stars which can't play like a team.

I don't get it, I just don't get it. Yes we said and agreed the U.S. is the best when it comes to BBall. But you can't say that after them the best league in the world to follow is the Greek league, common you guys, wake up and smell the coffee. The past 15 years since the beginning of the Final four have seen 13 out of 15 a greek team, dating back from the good old days with Aris Salonika and the great Nikos Galis. look man, know your basketball (even though this IS a fifa 2000 forum) before you say anything. efes pilsen DID win the korac cup a few years ago, so they WERE champions of europe too. petar naumoski played in the european all-star game quite a few times in the past few years (he plays on efes pilsen). plus, turkish teams do pretty well in european cups anyway, ok, congragulations to your championship, but you don't have to come out screaming about it. you follow the nba, but do you follow fiba? it doesn't look like you do.

and about your greek football rants, you mention teams and players as if they're so good, but really nobody's heard of most of them except for 2 or 3. you diss turkish teams, but look at your greek teams first. nobody's heard of them, and nobody cares about them. you might think they're god, but nobody else does, so there's to ya.

Now this is not biased and especially sad to mention, but I think we have missed on something: It's the national teams that will play at Sidney - it's so straightforward! How is then Greece going to be the runner up of the tournament, since we finished last in the European championship?

These now are official facts concerning only Europe: Up until now, Greek clubs are 2/16, following Italian ones, and Greek national team is 16/16, following every European nation. So there is work to be done before we can shout we are the 2nd greatest nation in the world.
