This game is crap and i think that championship manager is much better by far and every one thinks this is true and no one in this fourm can proof this!!!!!!

If no-one can prove that FM2002 is better than CM2002, how can you prove that CM2002 is better than FM2002?

All jokes aside, all you fans of the FAPLFM2001 OR FAPLM2002 games have still got to admit that EA Sports have been getting worse with each edition of FAPLFM. Whilst the Champ Manager series has been going from strength to strength.

I've never played Champ Manager 01/02 etc. myself. (I USED to be an avid FAPLFM fan), but from EVERYONE I know who has the game (and that's alot), they have all said that theres much more options in it than in the FAPLM games. Including the chance to decide when to put players into surgery, and if you want to appeal against any cards or bans gained by your players in the matches.

Sure you don't get to watch the matches like in the FAPLM games and the game looks more like a spreadsheet than a football/management sim, but then again you don't get a million bugs with the game that spoil it as you would if you bought the new FAPLFM game.

So in closing I would just like to say that after a fortnight of playing a bug-ridden FAPLFM 2002 game (if you can call it a game), I have firmly taken the game back to the shop where I bought it, got my money back and am now playing the vastly superior Championship Manager 01/02. I have never looked back and properly never will.

I urge you all to follow my example. (If you want to actually enjoy your football management sims)

Also theres a hell of a lot more websites on the net at the moment for Champ Manager 01/02 than there are for FAPLFM 2002. I have looked all over and found not one FAPLFM 2002 website. (Not even on the official EASports website).

However theres loads of Champ Manager 01/02 websites offering everything, from cheats, tips, and forums, to brand new downloads, (already they have updates of the game). As well as many other options.

Are you going to post that everywhere?

Since you can't watch the games in CM, they simply don't qualify. So it doesn't matter how few bugs there are in the game.
I could write a manager game whith only one player that you could buy, and no other functions. It would be totally bug free, but would it be a good program?

Competition doesnt come from CM, but maybe the ol' Premier Manager from Gremlin. Don't know what has happened to that game though...

Finally (off subject). It seams like the guys at 2001.footymanager.net will make a site for 2002. That will be a great improvement. Especially if there will be a place to share roster files, as in their current site.

You can't watch the games in FAPLFM 2002 either.
You can watch some guys kicking a ball around in semi-random directions and running into each other.

And this is exactly why serious manager games doesn't bother with 3D representation - it's got nothing to do with football (yet, still hoping something useful will appear in the future).

By the way, if you think that CM is a less complex (and thus more prone to bugs) program than FAPLM, you're wrong. It's actually the other way around.

If CM is so much better than FAPLM, why are you on this forum ?
Don't misunderstand me here, of course it's open for everyone, but I can't see the point of just running here and complain. Wouldn't it be more fun to play CM, or discuss tactics in the CM forum?

No, I do not think CM is less complex. My point was more that the graphics seams to be very buggy in FAPLM, and since I want to watch the games (ok, not always 100% realistic), the graphic programming counts.
If you don't whish to watch the games, I think you're absolutely right. CM is a great game.
I also have to save the game before every match, because you'll never know when you're suddenly thrown out to windows...:mad:

However, the two worst features of the 2001 version is solved.
1) the players _can_ score even if they are in the penalty box.
2) no more slow subs.
also some more minor AI details is solved.

The clearly most dissapointing thing would be the absence of an official web page. EA should be ashamed of themselves.

Actually I play (and enjoy) both games.
I just reacted to the somewhat arrogant remark: "Since you can't watch the games in CM, they simply don't qualify", which is complete nonsense.

In my opinion FAPLM is a bit of fun, while CM is the totally addictive football experience (and considering that each years version of CM3 has sold more than the same years FAPLM and FIFA 200X combined!, it seems I'm not the only one) We're talking about a game that has appeared as ground for divorce in court (one case in Spain and one case in USA), that's how addictive it is, so let's just say that it's doing quite allright without 3D graphics.

But I still find FAPLM quite entertaining and it's clearly the best football game from EA, in my humble opinion.

The reason I'm on this forum is because I've recently bought the 2002 version and want to see other peoples opinions.

All I'm saying is, is that FAPLFM 2002 could be the BEST game out on the market at the moment if EA Sports were to put it a little bit for effort in.

One thing you'll find with most CM-fans is that we can be extremely touchy when CM is critisized :)

i loved the thread in here much more than anyothers...yes we aint supposed to come here and complain and end point ..i do agree...but maaaaan cant u see u it...regardless of whatever buggs that making the passing and movements hazardly ...bla bla at least ur watching a real game with 3d players which make it more realistic...however the real buggy thing is getting ur PC craching at the middle of the season and no matter how u tries like reinstallinng the game,or save the game just b4 the point it crushes...it will do!!!!!
talking of comparison of cm and faplm.....from managing point of view cm is far more better{if only they do have a fake 3d game with least graphics and skills:(]...in CM2002 the reaction with players getting happier or not,asking for future plans,wanna leave for good,dislike whoever,been sent for surgery...and more and more
also the stats for each player help u decide which place and what time u can throw him to the pitch and change the game like a real manager and mostly it works! yet the training options for faplm is more and that a point for it
lastly i can say if cm2002 have a simple way of a game got to b played with players even if not with 3D thing and lights in stadium and that crap of faplm thats called to b responsible for all the god damen buggs...then cm would have been the best sports game ever

u got the news about cm4....they r going to make it a game for internet with all same features,also will do a 2D but not 3D thing full of **** like fm2002
thats how the real progress is with new brilliant ideas not just to blow up a copy of a game and the total hell with all losers buying it...anyways i d love to see fm2003 with lesser problems that would be a computergame dream came true...but water doesnt run in the desert but once every age:D

Since EA Sports are the creator of FIFA2002, i really hope that they will improve the 3D for FM2003, then thats what i will call a perfect game. CM still goof enough thou it do not have any 3D engine. Hope to see that included in future version. Cheers to FM & CM.

yeah right, with the brand new cm4 coming out in september...it has been 3 years cm is updating the cm3 engine a little bit each year, but this time it will be totally different, as different as cm3 is compared to cm2...

Anyway even cm1 is better than fm2002...it's a pitty easport's manager games turned out that way, i loved their first football manager game, fifa soccer manager, excellent game...after that it was all s.h.i.t.
