hi all,

just wanted to know if playstation 2 or playstation games released in England and/or elsewhere in Europe work on USA playstation 2?

i ask because there are a lot of cool soccer games i have read about like ISS and Pro Evolution that i'd like for my playstation 2 but since i have a US system and am living here in the US, i dont know if games from europe will work. or do i need to buy a special chip or something?

Yes you need to mod your PS2 system. I live in the US and I've modded my system. This topic has been delt with before so for further info, send me a PM or an email.

?? you need a chip? what do you want to know? go to modchip.com to look at the models of chips. Open your local paper, look for mod chip installations, you'll see it there. Ask them whether or not you can play PAL games, they'll tell you. In Auckland alone, there are dozens of mod chip people. Wrning though, your PS2 guarantee is void after the procedure(takes 5 mins and costs 20 bucks)

But I don't know one person that's ever taken their PS back to Sony and used their 1 yr guarantee, so you'll be okay.

My PS is chipped, and works perfectly.

Funny thing, Playstation store in Croatia. Brand new Playstation 2's, 650DM and 680 DM chipped :), in the stor window. I wonder what Sony says about this? :D
