Its a long timke that Italy hasnt played this well in a long time .Italy totally dominated ,the score could of been easily 4-1 .And what a game Del piero had in the second half ,he almost scored on a free kick but it hit the crossbar ,Inzaghi's goals was a little controversial ,but because the ref is from scotland ,he surely hasnt seen serie A games .But still,Italy fully deserved that win ,and whats great is that beautiful goal by Conte,a beautiful bicicle kick .I hope they play this way against Belgium and throughout the tournament .Italy hit 3 posts in this game .Forza Azzuri .

First, yes Del Piero was great even though he played only a couple of minutes in the second half..

Then, I'm really irretated by the ref standard so far...2 games and two terrible refs...

1.Ref Merk from Germany didn't care that Mpenza took the ball with his hand and then scored...weird..

2. No penalty - nuff said ( and yes Rossi, he can't possibly have seen any Seria A games..)

U say 4-1 - Yes that is very possible with all their chanses and woodwork hits! - But that was because Turkey moved up in the field when they were 1 goal down...

I would have liked a draw - cuz I'm swede..but I don't think Sweden will have any chanse against either Turkey or Italy

Hi,i am from Turkey.I am very dissappointed about turkeys football.They played 4th. class football.Neither of the two teams deserved to win,but Italy was the one who deserved it more.Now Turkey and Sweden have absoulutely no chance to qulify.

Yeah the game was good, and Italy played very well, although Turkey had its chances. And that penalty was a joke,there were other falls worse than that and he didn't call anything. That Hugh Dallas...
But Italy deserved to win anyway.

This game was a great game. Wonderfully played. However, the ending, like Holland-Czech, ruined it. Yes, Italy did deserve to win, but the manner in which they were given the opportunity was undeserved. They outplayed Turkey. They ran circles around Turkey. But Inzaghi dived. He should try out for the Italian Olympic diving team.

And for the second major tournament in a row, Italy is gifted a penalty they did not deserve (See France 98 v Chile for first gift)
