I am planning to terminate my AOL account and getting cable or dsl.

1. What is the difference between cable and dsl ?
2. What do you think is the best cable/dsl provider ?

I live in New York City and I am planning to get Road Runner from Time Warner Cable. Is that a good provider ? Are there any better ones ?

I've had Verizon DSL for about 10 months.

1. I have heard DSL is slightly more reliable and faster, maybe cheaper.

2. I heard AOL DSL is horrible, but I love Verizon's DSL package.

I have Road Runner from Time Warner, and don't believe any of this crap you see on TV.

We have a DSL commercial out here that has a family waking up at 1 AM to get optimal cable modem service. That's crap. Cable Modem is faster, and I know this because when I download stuff using Napster or Morpheus, DSL's are always slower than Cable Modems, and I think they take up a phone line too. Cable Modem is always online, and if you have Cable already, the price for the modem is fairly low.

Road Runner is amazing, and an excellent, reliable provider. Get that if anything.

I'm not in the US, but CABLE RULES (despite all your street is connected at the same time :D )
