All I can say it that Rich has all my support.
I once posted my work on fifala, heck, they (oops, HE) stole some of my ideas.
I tell you what, to all those that know how to edit graphics. Why can't you all share the wealth and tell everyone how to do their own work, so there is no conflicts, period!.
I remember a member under the nickname of SIGO, now that guy was a real videogame lover, and he wanted everyone to know how to edit the stadium structure, because there's a lot of people with a lot of talent that can do a way better job than the one who discovered how to make stadium, make jerseys, or move around icons on the menus.

I know what you mean. The people who are selfish and don't want to share their knowledge, they knew this was bound to happen. We are a fifa community in whole, why can't we share the knowledge? Greed, my friend, that's why.
I have been asking FIFALA for questions concerning this editing process and they don't want to share. SO I went ahead and began studying their pop up files. I can gaurantee you that once I fully figure it out, I will certainly make a tutorial available. The more people that know how to create files, the more downloads that will become available. Isn't that what we all want? I mean, does FIFALA plan on making all the pop ups for every single world channel?

FIFALA suxs big time for not sharing what they know. I've emailed them many times asking how to edit popups, but they never gave back an answer I guess they are greedy little bastards. And also I hope FIFAMANIA comes out with a stadium editor so we can make stadiums like they do. FIFAMANIA hasn't shared their stadium building technique, but have shared usefull programs like chants utility and FMN maker.

So FIFAMANIA rules!!!

I'm one of the few who know how to edit the stadium structure but unfortunatly i don't know how to tell it, the tutorial of SIGO helped me to find out.

I really hope fifamania soon comes with the editor cause i really want more realistic stadiums in FIFA, i can make them myself but by using hex it takes me weeks to make some stadiums

And about the TV patches, i know how to make them but i can't put together a *.fsh file with the same file format

I'm speaking on behalf of myself, and not Chris here, as my opinions might impact on the POTD Millennium patch.

The POTD is not the first game add-on I've done - I've worked on several for other games. If someone has seen what I've done and been inspired to try and emulate that or to try and do something like that, I take my hat off to them - after all, they are doing exactly what you are trying to do, make a good game even better by being creative. That is the reason why we make add-ons, isn't it? To enjoy the game more?

From what I understand, FIFALA are accusing Rich of either copying a patch or using one of their patches as a base (my Spanish is not that good). What is wrong with this? Could the FIFALA webmaster please reply to this post and explain? I think Rich has said that he has made this TV patch off his own back, without using anything from FIFALA, and if this is the case, all I can see is a case of sour grapes in the case of FIFALA. The fact is that right now the best FIFA 2000 site online, the one which has all the best news, downloads, articles and deabte before anyone else is part of the Soccer Gaming Network, and I'm sure Matt and the rest of us will keep it that way for a long time to come. My personal message to FIFALA is to shut up and get on with the arduous task of catching up.

As usual, everything above is my opinion and may or may not be shared by Matt and the others, and it is not the official line here at Soccer Gaming.

Wow, I didn't see the insult until just recently when I went to go see the OTHER site.

This shows how immature, greedy, he is and how totally unprofessional the web site is. And these comments were posted from the main web master!!! I mean, could you imagine Matt degrading the guys at Euro-Ball or FIFA Centre Spot? Totally unprofessional.

Well, speaking of FIFAMANIA, they have released another stadium program called TEXTURE EDITOR G2 to compliment their STADIUM VIEWER 2000 one. These guys are sharing their knowledge of creating awesome edited stadiums with us. They also were the ones to show us the 128 color technique.

And the other technique that we would like to learn, the editing pop-up graphics one that FIFALA knows plenty of, well let's just say that they still won't share the knowledge.

This is just Rich's opinion on the subject. All of SG do not feel the same and we all look forward to dealing with Xavier's FIFALA in the future.

Rich asked me for the authorizatoin. I deny it. Then he told me that he was going to fool everybody!
The PGL was made for the latin leagues patch. I published a BETA version but I found too many pirated copies.
Rich told me that his plan was to ruin my patch. the PGL and PGL channels weren't supposed to come out before the patch release.
So Rich wanted to ruin my patch, and he did!
There were 10 graphic patches that weren't published because their authors respected the way in wich I wanted to publish the PGL.
Rich wasn't even CLOSE to negotiate this.
He asked me if Ariel will mind the use of the mis16.tpl file (that is the main file in the graphic patch)
as soon as I told him no, RICH started insulting me, telling how much fifala sucks, and laghing a lot.
I realized that talking with Rich was a waste of time, so I talked with Matt
I published in my site that SG was about to release a pirated copy of the PGL
then he posted the graphic patch (I told him not to)
then he continued to insult me, he would only insult me, why??
because I wasn't helping him

the final version of the PGL is just amazing
You could all have by now a really cool PGL
with a lot of channels
this software uses a modified version of the FIFA.EXE file.

they should contact me. A member from the fifala's stuff can help you and make the graphic patch that you want.
However, we will publish in on the fifala server. I will make a page with the 3D, NON 3D, and resolution patches. I will also put all the credits there

Xavier does have it right to some point there except two main bits in the plot - he has no right to call me a "coward" - I did NOT insult his mother - I never would do that to anyone...

Secondly, YES I DID credit ARIEL in the readme.txt that I included with my Sky Sports beta patch - typical Xavier, jumping to conclusions, like he has the WHOLE WAY THROUGH this argument. But what I don't understand, is why he keeps going! It's just a petty little argument over a 1kb text file!

Now, as you may have noticed - Xavier is now trying to completely shatter my reputation, and that is not on! And also blackmailing you into taking his side is not what we like to see in the FIFA community - it is a way of admitting that he has some ground to make up!

WHAT YOU GUYS UNDERSTAND, AND I KNOW YOU ALSO WANT TO UNDERSTAND AND WANT TO HEAR IS THAT I WAS GOING TO RELEASE THAT PATCH FOR THE FIFA FANS WHO WANTED IT. I can't possibly explain how to do a graphic patch in an email, those are really difficult to make (full versions)
I haven't seemed ANY patch that has been made entirely by one person (I mean a patch that works on all resolutions, 3D and NON 3D modes..) At least 2 or 3 people work on them, plus there are tons of beta versions until the right one comes out
It took us some valuable months. I saw the graphic patches grow.

My point of view:
First of all, Xavier, there was no need for you to bring all the stuff you just wrote (you must have a lot of damn time to write all of that).
And second, someone else releasing something will not, by no means result in lesser in-game graphics edition, tell you why? because if everyone knows how to do all the editing, then there will be more competition, resulting in what? you do the math, EVEN MORE files to be created, and who knows, much better than yours or Rich's.
It is very clear, that what fifala wants to do is monopolize all this file editing, and that's okay, you guys (no you xavier, the others who work for you, cuz you don't do jack) were the ones who invested your time trying to find out how to edit, but I must say one thing, that's not what editing stands for (monopolize). What it really stands for is to improve the game for everyone, and what a better way to do it sharing what you know so not only 2 or 3 people do the editing, but dozens of people.
That shouldn't be too hard to understand, would it?

I think it is ok for people to defend their work, and to ask for credit to be given, or even to be paid for their work(I know what a shocking proposition!). It's all in the supply and demand, if the thing you make is so good people are willing to pay for it more power to you.

Also as to why people do this, it seems pretty obvious to me: 1.it is their hobby to do it. and/or 2. They hope someone up there notices their work, and will offer them job at their games company. Nothing wrong with either motivation.

The tutorial will contain all the info for ya to built your own Ingame layout. The tutorial can be used by everyone, even if ya don't editted FIFA series before!! I am trying to make it possible for everyone to make their own ingame-layout so we will get more high quality ingame layout for download. I fully agree with what your saying with regards to making a living.

But these guys appear to be doing it for fun.

so why not pool all their knowledge, take credit where it's due and make better patches, without the bitching & screeming.
