View Full Version : Increasing attributes in Championship Manager, will it be in PES?

I was just wondering, in championship manager some of the good players attributes normally increase depending on the training and match practice. For example when you take control of Manchester United, Paul Scholes long shot value is 15, and after some matches it increases to 18.

It will be great if they have this in PES.

you agree?

In theory I think attribute changes (beyond the random red, orange, blue and white arrow indicators) would be a cool idea, but they would have to make sure it's balanced out, so maybe his (Scholes') defensive awareness goes down a bit while his shooting goes up? I dunno.

I think a player's form should be a bigger part of the gameplay as the season wears on; so if you score a hattrick with Schevchenko it's more likely he'll have a positive attribute status (ie red or orange arrow) in the next game, but if you don't score in the next game or get sent off then it goes back down to normal, and if a striker doesn't score for several games (or an attacking midfielder doesn't get any assists for several games) then it's more likely he'll have a negative status (blue or white arrow) for the next few games until he gets out of his slump.

the_man - is this (above) in WE5?

Man, wouldn't it be great to have a "man of the match" award, that actually is accurate. Like the mid that assisted twice, or the striker who played real hard. If they could get that right, I'g love to see it.

Also more stat tracking would be nice. Goals for-against in the world cup etc.

Sortof. If you get beat 3-0 get ready to use your second goalie cos the first one will not be ready to play. If your team is mostly orange and red and you lose to a relatively weak team, i.e. you play like crap, they are not going to be green next game. If Kluivert is having a hot streak, he's greenish, orangish and he is scoring 3 goals in the last 2 games, make sure you sub him.

I basically look at the schedule and say, hmm, I have S.Korea now then Italy then France. Okay, so i look at my team, I say okay instead of Stam, Konterman could probably play CB, I'll start Davids and Cocu in the middle but i'll bring one of them (or both) out because i want them to get rest for the next two opponets, stuff like that. I basically know who I will sub for that game based on who i'm going to play and their mental/physical state. Towards the middle of the season, if you don't do your rotations fairly well, it will show because you will have 10 players green (mostly the bench warmers), 1 orange (a keeper) and everyone else is blue or grey, and you meet Brazil next game...not good. In a word, try to treat it as in real life as possible, no matter how good of a streak someone is going, be reasonable to sub them out too. Know who you are likely to sub in before the game (do Team management before the game). Know the kind of players you have and the key positions. Some players you prefer not to play without (did you follow). So use them wisely for the important match. Okay I wrote this in 2 mins so its a ramble and a half, let me know if you get it, if not i'll rewrite it.

the_man,

I understand, and it sounds frickin' cool! That means you have to shuffle your squad even more. Do you play the Master League often, or do you prefer the international teams? How often do players get injured?

It is frickin cool!! Yup and as you experiment you realize that, Aaron Winter (pronounced Vingta) cannot replace Davids :( Anyway, I love International play more than club play (i.e. in real life). So i prefer to play International league, or my custom europe, asia, american, africa leagues. or simulate a world cup. I just love International play. More pride, more flare, more style than club teams (HMO). In the leauge, of 30 games, I probably get 3 injures, depends on who the other 15 teams are. If you have an Italy, Germany and Cameroon in a row, your chances for injury goes up cos these teams are physical. Plus I noticed state can affect injury. If someone is grey, and he gets tackled, guess what... Anyway, as ISSPE2 players know there are two types of injury red and yellow, red player is taken off the pitch yellow player can play but you should prolly sub him anyway. I don't know the exact number of games it takes for a red injury, (4 or 5 i'm guessing, i don't keep count, i just tell the player that he should put ice on the broken leg :p :D ) the yellow's i know vary cos some lasted a game some 3 games (I tracked it by request of someone). More questions i'll be willing to answer.

Guys, i got ISS a week ago. Can you help me out?

In ISSPE2, if this arrow thing and fatigue thing exists, where can I locate it for my team? Thanks!!

this is excellent the man, I think I will enjoy using a squad rotation system(Manu).

The Cro, the man of the match idea is good, but I don't like the one in fifa, because it just goes to the person with the most goals or the keeper with the clean sheet. I think the CPU should look at things like passes completion, assists for goals, tackles, strikers that score a hatrick and also worked hard, things like that.

exactly grashed, someone that contributed to the win or the game the most. Difficult to make, but KCET are geniouses I'm convinced.

And maybe a player of the year award of sorts? Cool

Hehehe, did you also learn Dutch? You are almost right, it's pronounced Vinta, but it means the same as in English :)
But that's not the reason to write this post, would have been irritating, right? :)
You wrote about the arrows and I remembered you wrote some days ago that some random values will change.
I found a table on another website (http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/winning_eleven_5_master_league.txt) and like to show it, to read your opinions about it:

Player condition
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
From: laputa01
Was anyone aware of what the forms mean?
If not ....read on!!

Red Arrow (UP)
Balance +2
Stamina +2
Acceleration +1
Accuracy +1
Response +1

Orange Arrow (Diagonal UP)
Balance +1
Stamina +1
Acceleration 0
Accuracy +1
Response +0

Green Arrow (Horizontal)
Balance +0
Stamina +0
Acceleration +0
Accuracy +0
Response +0

Blue Arrow (Diagonal DOWN)
Balance +0
Stamina -1
Acceleration -2
Accuracy -2
Response -1

Grey Arrow (Down)
Balance +0
Stamina -2
Acceleration -3
Accuracy -3
Response -3

So, according to this it is not a random attribute, but fixed ones...
What do you think about it??

No I didn't learn Dutch, but I just know a lot about the Dutch team. I don't mind being corrected also, I thought the g was a silent one. Anyway, I don't think I said Random attributes were changed, I think i said some, but this could be correct. I just know that your player will play like crap if he is grey or blue (Depending on the player tho)

Maybe you didn't say random: I kind-of remembered it, but did not reread it, in fact I don't know in what topic you wrote about it. :)
Winter is almost pronounced as in English, except the way we pronounce the W (indeed, almost a English V) and the R at the end is more a rolling R, like in ...euh... more :)
Ever payed attention to van der Vaart? Watch him, he is a sensation! Before I compared him with Bergkamp and he may become even better! :)

Ah okay. Vinter. no i haven't heard of v. Der Vaart. but i know there is some up coming talent for dutch that should do them well for years. like Hofland replacing F. DeBoer, Van Bommel will be the new Wim Jonk (pronouced Vim Yonk right?). I like Jonk, good passing, good sense on the ball, and good shooter. Like how Cocu is now, v. Bommel is learning. And more talent from the PSV side, Hasselink is alright, not fabulous, but okay. So there is a lot of good up coming talent for the dutch, we look forward to seeing them in Euro2004.
