View Full Version : Question about PES!

I play ISS PE2 on the PC....

I realy like special moves, ISS PE2 have only one... (Am I right?)

I've read about PES that It has more skill moves !!???? If this is right I finaly buy a (real) Playstation 2!!! (and buy the PES game)

I'm one of those old Fifa fans, who get sick of those su*king Fifa games of the last few years (fifa 2000 and fifa 2001). I've read so mutch about ISS that I diside to try it out. I think is to early to tell if I like it or not. I know it takes some time to learn the game. So far I play on easy level, and get beaten every time, and get many of yellow and red cards.. :(

If all those things about PE2 are true, PE2 is gonna be my kind of ideal soccer game!

PE2 = PES...... Whoops...

Give the game a chance, don't be too eager. Build you attack, pass the ball around, look for spaces.

In todays football, you're lucky to see one "special" move in any given game. Konami recognises this. In ISSPE2 you have a couple, the fake shot, the stepover. The Fake is grat, it is done by holding the shot button, and before releasing, cancelling it with the pass button, Can be very effective.

One thing, SLOW IT DOWN !
This isn't FIFA, don't slide tackle unless it's absolutely neccessary. Use the pass button for a step in, and push the player off the ball. Sliding is used as a last resurt, or if it's perfectly timed. Use your wingers, hold up the ball with the midfielders, don't be afraid to slow up the game so your attacking mids and strikers can make their through runs.

If you like real soccer, I am sure you can appreciate the game, and PES will be even better. There are 4 speeds of sprint in PES, which makes for some more dummies with accellaration, and the old fakes are still there.

The trouble with putting too many tricks and special moves in a game is realism, it cannot be too effective, otherwise all any player would have to do is learn one trick and become the best of all time. It doesn't work this way. Get on the training ground and practice, it's also fun. Good luck.

Off course I give the game a chance. I already read about complaining Fifa 2002 buyers.... Happy enough so far i didn't buy the game! I realy like REAL soccer, and there for I go on to learn ISS, you just wait and see ;)

Tnx for the advise... I realy like the fake shot move... It hard to learn and that like real soccer. Moves like that are hard to learn and so improves realism again!

Good point..

About those skill moves, Your right about it that it can be like Fifa series that you can ''380 spin' around your way to the goal, that not realism. But there are many soccer players in real life who master lots of tricks, and they make soccer fun to watch. Soccer can be just a game of passing your way to the goal. I think the matter of succes with a skill move, should be the player itself. The better the player, the more chance of having succes with a skill move, and defenders shouldn't be able to do skill moves at all....
I think there are many ways to put skill moves into the game, and improve the gameplay for realism.

exactly, PES has skill moves, but Zidane will pull it off, a slow centreback like Stam, will not. Even a less skillfull midfielder, will not. Players like Zidane, Figo, Beckham, Prosinecki, Boban, Del Piero can do them well. It is very real.

Cool, now if you can play lots of diferent leagues and cups for clubs and international squads.... then I better attack my bank acount and get the money to buy the game (when released) and buy a PS2 as well....

PS2 in the living room on my big screen, with dolby surround!!! Ahhh must be great.... Sitting in my comfortable chair....

I think ISS PE2 have not enough teams, just country's and english club teams on the higher levels.... btw can you edit teams as well ?

Fake shot, you have to hit the shot button and cancel the shot will the pass button (ground pass). Press those quickly in that order, then the player will do the fake shot move. To do the step over you have to double tap your L2/L1 button, the button you configured to be L2/L1 button.

Difference btw, PES and ISSPE2....difference between France and Denmark. France is the best in the world, so is PES. Denmark is awesome, so is ISSPE2.

DOnt listen to him. Slidetackle a lot!! it`s great and easy to pull off.
THE Cro is just a bad tackler :p slide tackling is quite usefull but ofcourse never (maybe u understund this already) slide someone from his back.

u dont wanna play like Wise do u?

That's the dumbest piece of advice I've ever seen. I'd love to take you on in a game of ISS ProEvo2, I have a strange feeling that wou wouldn't beat me once in 10 games:p

rookie !

My guys would leave your helpless "slide tacklers" cltching the grass and eating the dust as my strikers walk all over your
over-exhuberant defence :p :p :D

the easiest games are against the rookies that love to slide tackle !

Beatie, don't listen to bulldrig, he's obviously not a fan of real football. :p

Wise belongs in the same catagory as 'psycho' Pearce and Vinny Jones :D

We Dutch allways have trouble with defending, :) did you already discovered the usefull press 2-button? Holding it while defending and you get help of other defenders...

I am a beginner too, but these friendly guys overhere helped me out with a lot of answers :)

and yes Wise is a psycho thats why i told him not to play like him
...kamazakie tackles...

What are u talking about Han????

What do u have against slide tackling :( ;) there`s nothing greater then stopping a fast striker with a perfectly timed sidetackling not hitting anything but the ball ;)

yeah, but the way you said it was like you were playing fifa. Just hitting the attactking press button and hitting the slide button. Note that when you slide, if you miss your player will be down for sometime, he won't recover like he is on drugs or something. So while sliding can be good/effective, you have to choose your battles...wisely :p ;)

Yer slide tackles are great once you get the timing right...but can be just as good when mistimed :p see how quick schevchenko runs after a couple of tiatto style slide challenges :)

the_man - lol, FIFA 2001's sliding tackiling down the park while keeping up with owen was hilarious.

ushould only really need to slide tackle if u are the last man or if u are trying to block a shot. yes they look good when pulled off but more likely than not u'll find ur self booked. han is right, dont slide tackle all the time......try using the defensive pressure button (check ur config if u dunno what it is)

I agree with twop whole heartedly. I seldomly use slide tackle, probably once or twice a game as the last resort.

I think that using the slide tackle is related to Fifa, I'm a old fifa player (never owned a console), so I need to get used to this kind of playing. I think it's great that you don't need to use the tackle so mutch. It's very real indeed. It's a emergency breakdown, a last try to stop the attacker from scoring, or give that lethal pass, instead of button pushing Fifa series.... True... so true...

With the PC I saw you can use the option 'netplay' on my emulator.... would be fun to see those cracks play the game the way it should be played.

HAN: It's true we (dutch guys) always having trouble of defending..

Btw, can someone give me some advise to let the keeper do some work instead of watching the ball go over the crossbar :)
From the 20 shots I shoot 18 over the bar :) When I scored a goal on 5-0 down, I jumped almost in the air, celebrating the goal hehehe :) The funny thing: On the practise field I do well... Just like real dutch soccer players:D

I can't wait to try a importend penalty kick... ;) Even Ruud van Nistelrooy missed a importend penalty last week.... must be a virus...

Greetx to everybody here....

Go to the training field and practice shooing. That's pretty much all I can say. In Fifa, 3 weeks you've mastered the game. You will not master ISS until months of playing. So practice, practice, and then practice some more. The PK thing for the dutch is just a mental block. Cryuff was smart, instead of taking the shot from the spot, just pass it off for someone to hammer a shot in. Cryuff knew that the dutch sux at PK's so they used that method.

Tried the demo a little bit. It's a cool game, I would have loved a 3D engine to see your team play as opposed to receiving the play by play. I won my first game as manager tho, 3-0, my team was Manchester City. :) :D However WE5 has been keeping me busy :p

For a single player you hold the pass button while you control the defender. To call more players for help you hold the pass button and the shoot button down together, so your players gang up on the attacker.

That is the way master league is. You start with a bunch of ficticious players. There skill is apauling, well some of them, and they just plain suck. In fifa the main difference between good players and bad players is speed. In master league, when your side of wannabes field against Man U, or Bayern Munich, the difference is not only speed but it is also in skill. Anyway back to ML, you are supposed to guide these players to get as many points as possible. When you get some points then you can buy new players to fill your side with. Star players that is, but I would suggest you don't go after the big fish just yet. You start out with 20 points, a win and a draw (easier said than done) would get you enough points to buy a decent player. I normally start filling my defence first.

A word of advice, don't start ML until you are pretty good at the game. Because you will just be frustrated and you won't win. So if on a good day you can beat Argentina using Portugal on a certain level then you are probably good enough to start ML but if not, keep practicing. You have to be patient with this game. When I say it takes month to master, some people think i'm exaggerating, heh. For more ML tips check out this site issprouk (http://www.issprouk.com/masterleague.shtml)

as the man said, you start of with a bunch of fake players no mater what team you choose. You have to buy the original players for the team by using your points. Go to player aquirment in the master league menu and you will see.
