Does anyone know why are the kits in PS2 PES not authentic? They are in PS1 Evolution and Pro Evolution.

They are not authentice in ISSPE1/2 they just look alot like the real life ones (i.e. the only authentic Jersey in WE5 is the Japanese one. It has the JFA crest and everything). In PES some of the jerseys look radically different from the real life ones (eg. France, Holland, Italy) and the rest look more realistic like in previous games. Ah this just hit my while I was writing this. Konami signed 1 FifPro license and that was for European teams to have the authentic names. If you want to use Authentic jerseys you would have to get another license. That is why Nigeria, Argentina, Brazil have jerseys very similar to the real life ones and France, Holland, Italy and so on don't.

So to cut the long story short, the license agreement must have had a "you cannot use authentic or similar jerseys as the real life players" clause in it.

it sucks so much ass that they dont have the authentic kits. its not gonna feel too real. i'm quite disappointed.

I'm sure they'll be real, Konami never had any licence, but their kits were very accurate. We've seen the demo build in the shots, the game will have real shirts I'm confident. Konami wouldn't do this to their fans.

Well, I think FIFPro europe cracked down on them. No European team has (close to) "authentic" jerseys.
