I think they were paid to let Ronaldo play, but i dont think they were paid to lose.

actually, Ronaldo had health problems back that day and a few hours before the start of the match he still was at the hospital.
Nike probably had a contract or something that said that he HAD to play that game (the WC final), and he had no option, he played that match in TERRIBLE health situation. :mad: :(

In fact I too heard about Brazil having been bribed to lose the Final. Soon after the defeat to France, I spoke to my uncle who lives in Brazil and knows a few of the players. He told me that the game has been fixed. However, it doens't matter much now. France seem to be worthy world champions on the back of their recent performances, and Brazil have been in decline. Maybe things would have been different if Zagallo had stayed on as coach.
